I'm a massive sucker for bands doing stuff out their comfort zone, so a grind band doing a 36 minute long song is gonna easily impress me. But yeah, there's some really nice textures and sounds going on here.

Hey Joe, thought you might be interested to know about this 26 min EP:
Quote:
This ep was written and recorded during the final day of the Phantom Limb sessions with unexpected extra studio time and resources. In the following years, with Natasha being released on its own and Brian no longer being in the band, our intentions of releasing Mass & Volume basically evaporated. However, looking back now, Mass & Volume serves as a great epilogue to that particular era of the band.

It's not as huge as Natasha but still some pretty interesting stuff going on. It's on bandcamp (link above).

Awesome sauce! I shall listen now.

I'm guessing the cover artwork is done by the same person that did Ocean Chief's new one.

Hmm., this feels more like an improv jam session than a proper release.

That's because it is a jam session... At least the quote I posted makes it look that way since it was a one-day thing.

I find this recording very entertaining, musically it isn't something brilliant or outstanding, but there is something hypnotic hidden somewhere in here. They did something good in a jam session, just imagine something properly done, I give them some points for that.
