The song Absolute Perpetual Death sounds amazing. They have changed their style drastically though. The first song sounds a lot like Depressive Black Metal with only slight symphonic influences here and there while the Death Metal is totally gone. I'm looking forward to it though because I like the new style much better than their previous stuff.

Well, this sounds nothing like the EP, apparently (which is a good thing.)

Damn the vocalist is really talented. On my first listen and the album is already great.

Not listening to new music these days, but this us definitely sth worthy. A few minutes is enough to say that the vocalist is out of this world.

Very intrigued upon first listen - this album sounds full of excellent potential and great atmosphere. After Shining's latest IX which was a bit of a hit-and-miss, this seems like a promise to renew my palate for DSBM.

Someone change the style/genre tag to Atmospheric/Depressive Black Metal!

Advent Sorrow. I think I remember the cover art of that one from the 2015 releases thread. It looked sort of blackened hardcore-like going by the cover. Will queue it up at any rate.

Don't let the cover (or the genre tags here on MS for that matter) fool you, it's actually just depressive black metal as far as I remember.

Was a bit concerned that it was DSBM but that track up there is actually really good. I'll definitely be playing this in full.

The description on the MA page is confusing me though:

"Advent Sorrow called their genre Torturous Black Metal, appropriate name for their new sound gotten in las works."

gotten in las works? K7, is this your band?

Definitely the best DSBM related thing I've heard in years. It's like a cinematic early Shining / Forgotten Tomb. 'Shining Hollow' could be the outstanding track, but tbh I enjoyed them all. Surprisingly uplifting for a DSBM thing too.

This is so much more interesting than their debut EP it's almost ridiculous.
