A masterpiece of modern prog from a band that has a few of them under their belts already

Pretty good stuff from a cursory listen, even if the approach isn't particularly groundbreaking.

They are getting cheesier and cheesier with every next release. Some of the lyrics are really terrible.

I thought they were excellent myself, particularly on Hope Dies Last.

Seriously?

I am hurt but have not fallen
I am wounded but unslain
I will lay me down and bleed for a while
Then I'll rise and fight again

Love can be beautiful and true, and it's said it is enduring

This album should be called "Cliches and Platitudes"

I don't see anything wrong with that. What would you have them sing about instead?

The themes are less important, the way the lyrics are written is.
You like cheesy lyrics, I don't. There's no need to dwell on the subject.

I'd say it's a decent album. Doesn't really stand out much though, especially with some many good prog out there.

I haven't heard a song as 80s as Love Reign O'er Me in a long time. On the whole, it's a good album, and more interesting than I remember the previous one being (although my memory of it is very faded). Nothing overly remarkable but some solid songwriting and enjoyable musicianship delivers a fairly enjoyable melodic classic prog metal album

All I can say is that I like the new Redemption album more than the new Fates Warning album, which was unexpected.
My favourite tracks: The Art of Loss, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Damaged, Thirty Silver, The Center of the Fire, Love Reign O'er Me.
