Moonspell have returned with a concept album sung entirely in Portuguese language and focusing on the massive earthquake that took place in Lisbon in 1755, resulting in a devastating number of human casualties and a city turned to rubble. But you already know all that because the band has made quite an effort to promote these certain traits of their new album and this is called good marketing. The question is if 1755 lives up to the great expectations it created as soon as it was announced.

I like the feel of the album, but most of the songs are a little too boring for me.

The Melting Snow

With the announcement of the new album in early 2021, and a new song in November, I decided to pick this up again.

This is a pretty good album that sadly got ignored due to it being totally in Portuguese. But the thing about Moonspell is that they take risks with every album, they always take a new creative direction, and I like that. Hoping for more risks and creativity in the new album

So weird you mention it was forgotten due to it was in Portuguese, that's what actually drew me into the album! Brilliant stuff
