Six long years after the release of ReLoad, Metallica come back on the scene to show their 8th studio album, St. Anger. Many of you have almost lost all the respect for this band since the release of the black album, many others hate them because of Load and ReLoad and some others have now lost every interest in their music. Actually, what can you all expect from the band who left its early amazing style to get fame and glory on MTV?

Metallica's 2003 release, St. Anger, will most likely always be considered the low point of the bands discography. I'm not sure if I can completely agree with this. I personally believe Load and Reload are worse albums. Mind you, St. Anger is absolutely not a fantastic release. It rambles, has some bad tracks, and sometimes you wonder "what are they doing?" (listen to Hetfield's moans in Invisible Kid). But the album does have energy, something the band has had on about 3 tracks on the last 2 studio discs.

So the biggest metal band on the planet is turning 30 this year.

As the story goes, back in 1981, some dude called James Hetfield answered a newspaper ad by a certain Lars Ulrich... and the legend was born. 30 years later, the success story that is Metallica still remains unequaled.

Happy 30th birthday, Metallica!

"The Quaker"
The moment I let go of the image of Metallica, I started enjoying some of this album. Still not great but I don't mind playing "The Unnamed Feeling" for example.

I just don't get the hate on this album. Sure, it's totally different to anything else they've done, but damn it's still so good. I love the rawer sound, and the riffs and drums are just rocking!

I havent heard of anybody yet who thinks this album "is so bad is good". So, yes, I guess so.

This was the first Metallica album I ever listened to back when it was released and I'm still in shock now of how crap it is, after all these years just thinking about the album makes me cringe.

I found the title song embarrassing to listen to, the chorus was annoying and cheesy as hell, and Frantic was a total shocker! In fact all the songs on this album are bad, it's hard to think the same band had released Ride The Lightning.

Best of the 'bottom 20' !
I give it a 3 just because of "FRANTIC TIC TIC TIC TIC TIC TOC" and "PURIFAAA-YEEEEEEEEEE"

I don't think I ever made it through a full listen tbh. Horrible sound, horrible production, terrible lyrically. Awful.

Immaculate production, that snare reminded me why I love metal music.
