How the f*ck does this album has lower score than her debut??? This is some real shit and yet people are being harsh on it.

I don't think that this album is Pop Rock at all...I mean, I heard it, it's heavy and has some nice synths here and there.

I know. They voted already without even listening to the album how heavy, fast and melodic it is. There's just that hate from Nightwish era. But Anette is Anette and Floor is Floor, why do they have to copy Tarja to be 'good' singers in Nightwish?

I couldn't agree more with you. Anette has been suffering from hatred for nothing, for she is an amazing singer. I don't like her debut with Nightwish because that album was made for Tarja and they didn't bother adapting it to her non-operatic voice, but Imaginaerum was one of the most critic-acclaimed and influential symphonic metal albums from most recent times for the subgenre. And there's Alyson Avenue, Anette was already great with them. This disc is kind of a mix of her times with both bands and some more interesting elements, especially the ones regarding her vocal performance, that has improved a lot since then. This should be rated 8 here, not less.

Kudos for remembering Alyson Avenue. When Nightwish had published "Eva", I was extremely disappointed. Then I've found her past band and it became clear she is very talented just different from Tarja. While I rarely listen to anything from post-"Once" era, The Dark Element is now among my favorite new bands of the past decade.

Haven't heard the album, but I don't see the need to focus so much on the voting. There's been 15 votes on the album at the time of writing, only 4 of which are below a '6'. Based on the one single I've heard from this album, I definitely expect that I wouldn't give it a score below 6, but then I also wouldn't agree with votes below 6 for the likes of Akhenaten - The Emerald Tablets Of Thoth, Nightwish - Century Child or Cult Of Luna - Salvation, which have been scored 5 by users that 9'd this album, and yet it would be excessive to complain about those scores either rather than granting people the privilege to rate music as they wish. The '2' from quieted_darkness is extreme (but he also had issues with the 'mainstream' riffs of Harakiri For The Sky), but there's not been any vote abuse or brigading for this album, so dedicating half the album thread to it is a bit excessive.

Adult oriented rock is such a dumb music label. If this is adult oriented rock, then what's the opposite? Child oriented rock? Most of these tunes are quite accessible to a young audience.

This is plain pop rock/metal, a bit less sugary than Metalite or Amaranthe. Euphemisms such as AOR only does disservice to the music, especially since AOR 'evolved' from pop rock, or soft rock or whatever. The supposed difference between pop rock and AOR was that AOR was used for pop rock music with clean and polished production quality.

Just because it has some heavy distorted guitars that doesn't mean the overall tunes aren't pop. Remove the distorted guitars and you've got clear cut pop tunes.

I gave this a few spins and to my surprise, it is quite fun to listen. It has energy. It has a dose of enthusiasm and it is entertaining. This is already much better than the last 2 Nightwish albums. There is the occasional Nightwish throwback in some electronic arrangements, but that's about it.

Still, the label is stupid. Same for adult contemporary. Why do we have a penchant for making things more complicated than they actually are? This could've been simply labeled as pop rock, or pop metal and it would be crystal clear. Such labels are not confusing.

True enough mate - the label is dumb but still widely used when pop rock or even power pop would be more appropriate. I Guess it's better to be broad sometimes, otherwise we'd be calling this Skandi industro-symphonic pop metal / post-punk disco fusion.

It's a really good album and I'm happy that Anette has been pretty busy these past couple of years putting out catchy and top quality music with the Dark Element and Allen/Olzon. This new solo album is another highlight; my Spotify definitely seems to be picking up her post-Nightwish material to a much larger extent than Nightwish's newer stuff.

Not sure how I overslept this one...
Now as I listen it for the first time, I think she could really use some additional male vocal to solve the problem of monotonous sound. If you listen a lot of tracks with her vocals and same speedy melodies, you get tired really quickly.
