Same as any other public service, it's ran by the government. Some parties are more willing to spend money on the development and maintenance of these areas than other parties. It's like a public park.

Funny enough I feel the same way about cars, but I'm still voting for parties that want to introduce a speed limit (which I would hate) and remove cars from cities (which would be really inconvenient to me).

But I find it important to give society an actual direction that is not just "everything back to a time that only exists in people's heads".

@Boxcar, I think that's how most ot us feel here. Politics is always compromise. My vote in the last German GE also went to a party I politically align with to maybe 70% at best.
