Biography
Incursion Dementa was formed in 1987 by two metalfriends Benny Meerstra (guitars) and Radboud Burgsma (bass). Douwe Leeuwen (drums) and Sjoerd van Slooten (guitars) soon joined them. After some 'vocal auditions' Benny van der Wal (vocals) came, saw and conquered.
The band is named after the famous nasty savage-song, but due to misspelling in the tape traders circuit the i got lost and 'dementia' became 'Dementa'.
Incursion Dementa is pure thrash, speed, fun with numerous riffs & breaks. No track is the same. Their motto is if it sounds good, it must be good! The release of the first demo 'We're Just Us' in 1988 got great responses from the critics and audience all over the world. With the second demo 'Ever Never' (1991) and the album 'All This Is' came international recognition.
Still the album 'All This Is' is a highly sought after item on the internet. In the collectors world of today even this limited release (only 500 copies were made) has reached unbelievable prices as much as 800$ on eBay.
Because of public demand Incursion Dementa remastered the album 'All This Is' and added the two demo's and two tracks. This album 'A Long Lane Has No Turning' also went worldwide.
After lots of shows in- and outside the Netherlands, Incursion Dementa split up halfway the nineties. The band was put to rest, only to wake up occasionally on a few metalfestivals.
The revival of old school Thrashmetal, the fun on stage and especially the response during and after the shows was enough restart the band in 2015. Sadly Sjoerd van Slooten and Douwe Leeuwen due to personal circumstances decided to leave the band. Never the less soon new members were found. In January 2015 Simon Schoon (guitars) and Jelle Hamstra (drums) joined Incursion Dementa.
