Biography
War Dance begun in March 2010 in Athens, Greece. Having a solid metal foundation they go way beyond, enriching their sound with a multitude of ethnic rhythms, elegant melodies & a cinematic climax in their compositions.
Tassos Pananoudakis (guitar) & Eleftherios Pletsis (vocals) were joined by Jim Rouvel (drums - from techno-thrashers Verdict Denied) & Dres Ioannis (bass). The four of them started rehearsing & crafting their own music immediately. Three months later their first songs were ready & the band took the stage! Vasilis Koumroglou (guitar - also from Verdict Denied) came on board too as a temporary member for concerts.
War Dance continued non-stop by recording a four track self-titled promo CD with original material. The echo of that release was heard well beyond the borders of their homeland & was praised by fans from many countries. Concert proposals begun & kept coming. They supported successfully much appreciated bands, as well as metal legends like Manilla Road & Warlord (US).
So they've managed to build an ever growing base of devoted listeners which demanded more.
Having this awesome feedback & an unbreakable belief in their music War Dance just finished recording their first album. “Wrath for the Ages” includes eight songs & a fantastic artwork by world renowned artist Ioannis (www.dangerousage.com).
The whole process, from scratch to mastering was done solely by the band in a garage studio using basic equipment. The vision was to preserve their character without sacrificing the all too important human element - so absent in these days of digital ease which sadly makes all bands sound identical. Consciously opposing the leading recording trends War Dance used the least possible digital editing & so managed to achieve a genuine yet modern sound full of spark, dynamics & intensity.
The band is currently looking for the right company who will believe in their vision as much as they do in order to present its music to the world the proper way.
