Biography

Infestation was founded in 1996 by members of Hangnail and Domination. Two years later they self-released their first "Curse of Creation" EP.

The reviews were raving and the band was named "the most promising death metal band of the year" by Terrorizer. Gigs supporting Rotting Christ and Vader soon followed. Loads of personnel changes became another Infestation trademark, starting with their drummer leaving to join Cradle of Filth.

Despite the interest from Metal Blade
and Nuclear Blast, Infestation signed to small, independent Swedish label Lunasound and released highly acclaimed "Mass Immolation" in early 2000.

After touring and gigs with the likes of Dismember, Immolation, Akercocke and Gorerotted, there seemed to be nothing stopping Infestation from becoming a big name on the death metal pantheon. Unfortunately, by the end of 2000 the band split up when singer Dave Samuel was found guilty of GBH and sent to prison. Some of the members formed Corpsing, while others stopped playing all together.

After his release in 2003, Dave met Matt "Wolftit" Pielorz and the guys decided to get Infestation back together again. After several rehearsals with different people, they decided that time wasn't right to carry on. Dave went to Northern Ireland and joined Putrefy, while Matt stayed in London and formed Necrosadistic Goat Torture. They stayed in touch...

Around the summer of 2006, Dave came back to London and hooked up with Matt again. Now, more serious than ever about the band, they completed the line-up with Infestation's first ever bass player Rob (ex-Endless Torment) and James (Spearhead) to start rehearsing old material and write new songs. After another lot of lineup changes and quite a few local gigs, the band was offered a slot at London Deathfest supporting Cryptopsy. The reviews and reactions to new songs were good, so shortly afterwards Infestation decided to record some new material. On the 6th of December 2008, 6 people recorded 6 new tracks and it only took 3 (not 6) hours. The EP was entitled "Bow To None".
