Biography
Used to have known each other since the age of five, Norbert and Andy decided to found a Heavy Metal Band in summer 2000. The first Line-Up (including Bernd and his younger brother Werner) was completed in February 2001 - The official founding of the band "Lords of Decadence".
After many gigs, a lot of successful events and the building of an own rehearsal room ("Black Box - Rehearsal Room") in Vienna, Werner decided to leave the band for private & career reasons (summer 2004).
Fortunately L.o.D. got to know Paul, a young and very talented drummer. Since autumn 2004 he's the new drummer of Lords of Decadence.
Career Highlights:
2007:
- Again a contribution on a worldwide distributed Motocross-DVD: The LoD-Song "Point of No Return" has been released on the "Red Bull X-Fighters"-DVD.
2006:
- Release of the 2nd album ?Bound to Fall"
- "Bound to Fall" receives excellent criticism & reviews - e.g. RockHard 01/2007: 8 of 10 points
2005:
- LoD signed a licence deal for "Cognitive Note of Discord" with the Italian Label "Scarlet Records" from Milano.
- RockHard magazine voted Lords of Decadence for "Best Newcomer 2004" and pressed one of LoD's songs ("Relationship: Erased") on RH's "Unerhört Vol. 13"-Sampler.
- Major company "Red Bull" selected LoD's song "When Rain is Pain?" as background-music for the DVD of the freestyle motocross artist Chris Pfeiffer from Germany.
- After the Re-Release of "Cognitive Note of Discord" over "Scarlet Records" LoD receives very good criticism & reviews in several magazines, e.g. RockHard: 7 of 10 points and "Soundcheck"-place 21; Metal Hammer: 4 of 7 points.
- Several contributions on Heavy Metal samplers in different countries.
2004:
- Reaching 3rd place at the Austrian Band Contest, the most important band contest in Austria.
- Were chosen to open the Summer Breeze Festival in Abtsgmünd / Germany after a contest of the magazine "Metal Hammer", where hundreds of bands competed for the open slot.
- Were honoured with the demo of the month October by the "RockHard" magazine
- Playing further support-gigs, metal-festivals and first gigs abroad.
2003:
- Reaching the Austrian Final of the European Bandcontest "Emergenza".
- Playing first support-gigs and international metal-festivals in Austria.
