Område is an avant-gardist band of music in the confluences of the trip hop and the ambient electronica and metal, to explore later the postindustrial music, in the confluence of the post-rock. The band has a very rich artistic and surrealist sensibility what gives its recognizable feeling.

Område 's music can be describe as being "classical post ambient nocturnal atmospheric neo-electro-progressive industrial metal world rock". Each tracks are a travel between light and melancholy, listener are taken in different sensation, different experience mix of black metal sadness and electro or orchestral light.
