TURBO
One of the biggest Polish Heavy Metal / Hard Rock legends.
Formed in 1980 in the beautiful City of Poznan by Henryk Tomczak, TURBO is the successor of two previous bands: "Stress" and "Heam". The band has always played hard rock and heavy metal and developed their own distinctive style over the last 30 years.

THE PAST
Back in 80's TURBO acted as a quartet: Wojciech Sowula (vocals), Wojciech Hoffmann (guitar), Henryk Tomczak (bass, Turbo's founder) and Wojciech Aniola (drums). June 1980 saw the first official TURBO material consisting of 5 songs, including "W srodku ciszy" and "Bylem z Toba tyle lat" - these two songs appeared on a first official TURBO's single. The band performed live for the first time in April 1980 in a student club "TROPS" in Poznan. The gig was critically acclaimed and the band was invited to perform at the first edition of "JAROCIN 80" - the biggest rock festival in Eastern Europe.
The Following months saw many changes in the band's line up, with the change of a vocalist to Piotr Krystek, bass player to Piotr Przybylski and a second guitarist - Andrzej Lysow. The first official album - "Dorosle dzieci" was recorded in 1982, already with a new vocalist, Grzegorz Kupczyk (1982-1989 and 1996-2007).

THE FUTURE
Nowadays TURBO consists of five experienced musicians and long time friends, having one of the best moments in the band's career:
Wojciech Hoffmann - lead guitar since 1980
Bogusz Rutkiewicz - bass guitar (1983-1988 and since 1996 till now)
Dominik Jokiel (ex Aion) - rhythm guitar since 2001
Tomasz Struszczyk (also Pathology) - vocalist since 2007
Mariusz Bobkowski - drums since 2011
In September 2008 a CD box ,,Turbo Anthology 1980-2008" consisting all 13 official albums and unreleased material. In 2009, once the band was back from their German tour, TURBO started working on a new album. "Straznik Swiatla" was published in the fall of 2009 and was critically acclaimed and announced one of the TURBO's best albums ever.
TURBO has celebrated 30 years on a music scene in 2010 by giving a tour around Poland, with the final concerts in Warsaw and Poznan. A concert in Poznan, their home city, was a very special one, as the band invited almost all former members of the band to take a part. Since 2010 the band was constantly touring, doing a lot of concerts around Poland. Right now TURBO is concentrating on their forthcoming album which will be released at the end of the year.
