Sortilège - Share Re-Recorded Song From 1983, Confirm New Line-Up

French 80's heavy metal outfit Sortilège announce new release, Phoenix, on August 27th via Verycords. The effort features 12 re-recorded songs from the band's back catalogue plus two new tracks. You can listen to the new version of the ''Sortilège'' song below. Phoenix was mixed by the band and Anthony Arconte, and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound Studios. In other news, vocalist and founding member Christian "Zouille" Augustin announce new members: guitarists Olivier Spitzer and Bruno Ramos, bassist Sébastien Bonne, and Clément Rouxel on drums.

Savatage - Jon Oliva Comments On New Music

Savatage frontman Jon Oliva confirmed in a recent interview with That Metal Interview Podcast that he and his bandmates, guitarists Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffery, have spent the last several years writing new material for their first album since 2001's Poets And Madmen, despite the fact that the band has been mostly inactive for nearly two decades, save for a one-off performance at Wacken Open Air back in 2015. Oliva's comments follow up on last November's reports that they were working on new material for a possible new Savatage album.
