Krux - Update From The Band

Krux have issued the following update:

"Yes, it is true folks. Krux will play their last 2 gigs in sweden before they enter the studio to record a new album. This will probably not happen until the winter of 09/10, but with Fredrik Åkessons duties in Opeth and Leif Edling being busy with Candlemass new album in 2009, it is not very likely that the band will be seen on a stage again that soon.

So... Don't miss next week shows in Stockholm - at Harry B James (thursday Jan 29) and in Gävle - at O´Learys (friday Jan 30). Krux promise to play a couple of odd songs from the catalogue to make things more interesting, and you will also see Pär Wiberg from Opeth do his Krux premiere. He replaces Carl Westholm on keys since the doctor is in Africa saving the world."

Warning - Doom Legend Disbanded, Official Statement By The Band

Sadly we have to announce, what most insiders and fans already know:
British Doom Legend Warning split up after 15 years of existence and two album masterpieces.

The only remaining original member and founder Patrick Walker has provided us with the following statement:

"The decision to discontinue Warning has been both a pain and a purgation to me. For the past two years or so, Warning has been a considerably important part of my life, what with travelling and playing shows, writing new music and a gradual but increasing interest in the band, largely helped by Cyclone Empire's rereleasing of both records and making them for the first time easily obtainable to people.

However, I started the band in 1994. I was a different person when I began playing with Warning; I had different musical objectives; different ideals; different influences and inspirations. Now in order to make music that retains some semblance of integrity and wholeness I realise I need to move on. This shouldn't be thought of as "the end" of something. I have, after all, been the sole remaining original member of the band in its most recent line-up for almost a year now; in this respect Warning is little more than a band name. So before I complete work on what will be the material for the next album, I need a new band; a new context within which to work.

I hope people continue their interest in my music, and all further information concerning it will be officially made known through Cyclone Empire with whom I am very happy to say I will continue to work as originally proposed, so please look no further than these pages for more news.

Many thanks,

Patrick Walker.

22nd January 2009"

We provide you with further news as we have them!

Novembers Doom - Enter Studio, Begin Work On New Album

On Friday January 16th, NOVEMBERS DOOM will enter recording studio "Belle City Sound" to begin recording their 7th full length CD, to be titled "Into Night's Requiem Infernal". Tracking duties will be handled by Chris Djuricic (Engineer and Novembers Doom bassist), and the mixing of the disc by Dan Swano at Unisound. The band comments:

"We're using the same Recording / Mixing formula we've used on "The Pale Haunt Departure" and "The Novella Reservoir". In our opinion, the combination of Djuricic and Swano creates the perfect sound for us, and we've received nothing but stellar reviews of sound quality from this combination in the past.

"Every band hypes their new material, and says it's the best they've done, and the hardest and the heaviest... You can judge that for yourself in time. What we can say is that this is the first time going into a recording the entire band feels confident and believes the material will please fans of the band, as well as turn many new heads in our direction. It's dark, aggressive, and melodic, and compliments the last three releases."

The cover artwork can be viewed here

Tracklisting for Into Night's Requiem Infernal:

01. Into Night's Requiem Infernal
02. Eulogy for the Living Lost
03. Empathy's Greed
04. The Fifth Day of March
05. Lazarus Regret
06. I Hurt Those I Adore
07. The Harlots Lie
08. When Desperation Fills the Void

Novembers Doom is:

Paul Kuhr - Vocals
Larry Roberts - Guitar
Vito Marchese - Guitar
Chris Djuricic - Bass
Sasha Horn - Drums

Leaves' Eyes - Updates From The Band

Dear Friends and Fans,

We just finished our European tour with Arch Enemy, Mercenary and Sister Sin, which we played with our new line-up for the first time. We're really feeling like a unity, having a great time on the road although we had to go through some technical problems here and there. It was very nice to meet our fans and friends again!

One of the finest moments on this tour was playing with Doro, celebrating her 25th anniversary together with 8.000 fans and other bands and musicians (see picture with Liv, Tarja, Floor, Sabina, Ji-In and Girlschool). We also played at the 25th anniversary of Germany's first Metal temple, the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg, situated in our hometown. This was a very special night for everybody.

2008 has been a quite turbulent year for us, finding two new members, producing our first DVD "We Came With The Northern Winds / En Saga I Belgia" and our third full-length album. As the recordings progressed, we decided to name the album "Njord". It has a strong connection to Nordic Mythology and history. The sound is truly massive, moreover, we have raised our own musical style to a new level. We are looking forward to both releases in the up-coming year: 27.2. the Double DVD and including Double Live CD "We Came With The Northern Winds / En Saga I Belgia" will be released, and soon after around spring-time the album "Njord" will be out. 2009 will be a year of many exciting, important and positive happenings for both Leaves' Eyes and our wonderful fans. We will see you on tour!

Yours truly,

Leaves Eyes

The 11th Hour (Ed Warby's Doom Band) - Napalm Records To Release Debut

The 11th Hour's mastermind is no other than jack-of-all-trades Ed Warby, who already carved his name into the history of Metal with Gorefest and Hail Of Bullets. With his new band, Warby takes a turn towards old-school Doom Metal. Slow motion grooves, viscious riffs, and a bleak atmosphere are at the heart of the music. The songs resonate with darkness and despair and grab the listener from the get-go. A full length release is tentatively scheduled for fall 2009.

"The 11th Hour is upon us, and it is with great pleasure that we announce our freshly forged bond with Napalm Records. It's an honor to be added to such a great and diverse artist roster and we feel it's the perfect home for our massive brand of doom metal! Now let's open those floodgates of doooooom…"

The 11th Hour are:

Ed Warby: Drums, Guitars, Bass, Vocals, Programming
Rogga Johansson (Ablaze My Sorrow, Paganizer) : Vocals, Additional Guitars

Isole - Upcoming Album Details And Samples

Napalm Records press release

Isole's fourth release, "Silent Ruins", continues to forge forth in the tradition of the previous albums. The Swedes once again indulge in their heart-sickened and somber brand of Doom Metal that only finds solace in a perfectly placed portion of deadly black epic. Profound compositions, hypnotic arrangements, and heavy flowing riffs, that not unlike molten lava slowly yet inexorably pull the listener down into its depths, are the core elements comprising this album. Gustavo Sazes (Firewind, Serenity) once again lends his artistic know-how to graphically convey a feeling of utter despair and isolation, while Peter In de Betou (Amon Amarth, Draconian, Arch Enemy) takes on the darkly work's mastering responsibilites. Rarely before have hopelessness and despair found such an elegant and becoming sound, making "Silent Ruins" a dark jewel that will not only appeal to the die-hard Doom Metal fan.

"Silent Ruins" cover art] tracklist:

01. From The Dark mp3-sample]
02. Forlorn
03. Nightfall
04. Hollow Shrine mp3-sample]
05. Soulscarred
06. Peccatum
07. Dark Clouds

Release date set for "Silent Ruins"

25.02.09 - Finland
27.02.09 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, France, Italy, Sweden
02.03.09 - Europe

Nominon - Working On New Material

Swedish death metallers Nominon have issued the following update:

"Writing this note to let you all know wtf that is going on in the Nominon clan. For now we're more or less only concentrate to write new riffs and stuff for the fourth album that we do plan to record sometime during 2009. We have a few songs already written, but still there is a bit of arranging to take care of since we do want to release the best and most grotesque shit ever and not any half-hearted weak pussy Metal that so many other bands do.

We are also (as usual) negotiating about doing some touring next year, and for now it looks as we'll probably be doing a headline European trip for two weeks in May. There's also a few openings for Nominon to tour The States again, so who knows, we might be doing a triumphant return over there during 2009. Would be fucking awesome, so we could brutalize the west coast this time around as well. See you in the pit motherfuckers, and be prepared because we'll be heading your way sooner or later!"
