Novembers Doom - To Record Live DVD
Chicago's dark metal act Novembers Doom will be recording their first live performance DVD to be released in early 2008 through The End Records.
About the recording of the DVD, singer Paul Kuhr comments: "We chose to record at Biebob in Vosselaar, Belgium, simply because it was one of the greatest experiences we've had performing in the past. The crowd left a lasting impression on us, and we want to capture that, and share it with others on this DVD. We have been talking about recording for many years, and we always waited until the time when we could do this on our own terms, making it special for us, as well as the people who made us feel at home. Joining us for the first time is Ajattara from Finland. We're very excited they accepted the invitation, as their sound is a perfect compliment for the show. We're also being joined by old friends Thurisaz, who we have toured with in both Europe and The United States, making a special night for us even better!"
November 10th, 2007 - Biebob Club - Vosselaar, Belgium with Ajattara, Thurisaz.
The band released their latest album "The Novella Reservoir" on The End Records in February 2007.

Flowing Tears - Updates From The Band
June 01/2007 - The tears are still flowing...
Since rumours are spreading and we´re drowning in mails we thought it might be a good idea to let you all know what´s going on in the FT camp: As you surely have noticed the release of an upcoming album is postphoned and it has been quiet here for a while.
The reason for that is that while starting writing the new album we realized we were trapped in a kind of album/tour/album circle and felt a little bit burned out, so even though we had already pre-produced some songs we decided to take an off-time for a while rather than recording an uninspired album just to fulfill business rules or expectations. Well, this while has become quite a while indeed, and some things have changed meanwhile. We parted ways with Century Media records with whom we worked together for seven years and archieved more than we ever dreamt of, but lately felt like a part of a machinery rather than a creative band.
Well, what does this all mean now? No, this doesn´t we we have disbanded, on the contrary. After we had taken a break and taken some neccessary changes on the business side we have now started working as a band again and it feels damn good writing songs again. As business-things always take a while we´re still in negotiations with several record labels as we want to make sure to consider all options we have for taking the best choice for the band´s future.
Well, and to prove you all we´re still alive, here´s some more news: Flowing tears are confirmed for this year´s Metal female voices Festival, taking place in Wieze/Belgium on October 20th. Apart from that we´re right now in studio working on the mixes of live recordings we had taped during the 2004 semi acoustic tour. Sounds fantastic and we can´t wait to share this different side of some FT classics with you. These recordings will probably be released as a live album in the near future to shorten the wait for the upcoming studio album. Ok, so much for now. More will follow soon. Really soon this time. We promise. ;-)
Helen, Ben, Stefan & Frederic.

Epica - Release Dates Of Forthcoming Album Confirmed
Epica have issued the following update on their forthcoming album, The Divine Conspiracy:
"After having announced the title of the upcoming Epica album last week, this week we want to give you some more info on The Divine Conspiracy.
The Divine Conspiracy will be Epica's first full length concept album. This concept deals with the theory that, as a test, God created all kinds of different religions and released those upon humanity to see if they would be able to find the true nature of them, realizing that in all religions it is actually the same. But there's more to it, it also concludes the "Embrace That Smothers" concept that could already be found on The Phantom Agony.
We also want to mention a special guest performance on this cd; Sander Gommans (After Forever & HDK) joined us in the studio to record some of his amazing grunts for one of the songs!
And to conclude with: We have just returned from Belgrade (Serbia) to shoot the video for our first single: Never Enough. This video was shot by renowned director Ivan Colic from ICode Team & Rock the Nations. More info on this video will follow soon!"
Update: Nuclear Blast has set the release date in Germany of The Divine Conspiracy for September 7th. The rest of Europe will follow shortly after with September 10th.

Stratovarius - Guitarist Checks In From Tokyo
Stratovarius Has Wrote The Following Message On There Official Website:
Things didn't start the smoothest way at the airport. After I entered the cockpit it was evident that one engine had a small fuel leak, so they tried to fix that. It wasn't possible, so everybody back to terminal. They got another plane and we were on our way with 2.5 hours delay. The take-off was amazing. I just watched in awe while the pilots did their thing with hundreds of knobs. Some of them I knew from my simulator experiences. It was really cool to be there in both take off and landing and gave me even more confidence together with my simulator experiences that flying is a really safe way to travel.
So we arrived to Osaka at 11 in the morning, two hours later than planned. Everything is always so cool here; 5 star hotels, the schedules are always holding, people are nice and friendly and the fans shower us with gifts. It's weird, but we were here a bit more than a year ago and now we are selling more tickets even without new album.
First show went really well. We were a bit nervous because we hadn't been playing any shows in seven months, but it was just great. The place was called Big Cat and it was the second hottest club I have played in. The temperature on stage was close to 55 Celsius. Poor Jörg. Poor TK. Despite the heat, the Osaka audience once again gave us a GREAT welcome. Then after the show signed some autographs, back to hotel and to dinner with the promoter to a Korean barbeque. Jens was getting really drunk and showed his usual antics (unfortunately I didn't bring my video camera there). I don´t know what the locals think when they hear in Japanese 'I want to fuck your dog' or 'I want to shit on your ancestors,' but maybe they saw the humour. I certainly did and I can never get enough of this genius guy.
In the morning a bullet train (300 km/h) ride to Tokyo and I just came back from a radio interview with TK and I´m typing this in my room with a view to a city that is 100 km in diameter and has 17 million people. Tomorrow a new show, all okay here, hope there too."
Signing out,
Timo

At Vance - Upcoming Album News
German Power Metal band At Vance will release their upcoming new album "VII" on June 29th via AFM. "VII" was mastered at Finnvox by Miko Jussila and has the following tracklist:
01. Breaking The Night
02. Shiver
03. Cold As Ice
04. Victory
05. Friendly Fire
06. Golden Leaves
07. Answer Me
08. Shine
09. Truth
10. Lost In Your Love
A picture of the cover art can be found here. An official press release reads as follows: "The new At Vance "VII" will be released on June, 29. As the name already says, the band built around fabulous guitarist Olaf Lenk, already releasing its seventh album. So what's different then? Well, in truth not much, but did you really expect that a band who had established its own sound so strongly on the last six releases would break the mould and do away with its very own interpretation on neo-classical Power Metal that crosses elegantly with the true spirit of 80's Hard Rock? No! All they've done is to step ahead again. Listen to the dramatic groove snaking through "Shiver" or the ultra catchy "Cold As Ice" where the new At Vance singer Rick Altzi shows his brilliant range."
In other news, At Vance recently found a new vocalist. His name is Rick Altzi. You can visit Altzi's MySpace page at this location, and his personal website here.
