Visions Of Atlantis - New Keyboardist And Summer Breeze Open Air Location Confirmed

Visions of Atlantis confirmed a new keyboardist and appearance at Summer Breeze:

"Martin Harb is to substitute Miro on keys! Since Miro Holly did not feel like VoA fitted in his new life anymore, he quit the band with very short notice, we were quite disappointed in him, but with Martin Harb we have found the perfect keyboarder for VoA. He already played with us on our Mexican tour 2003!

A new era has begun for VoA, with this new "kick ass" line up we are hungry for more!"

Machine Head - Working On A New Full-length

American thrash metallers Machine Head are in the process of recording their next album. Below is an except from drummer Dave McClain's diary entry on their website:

What's up Everybody? Update time!!!!

We're finally on the home stretch!! A few more songs to go until the writing process is completed. Let me say a few things about the progress and way the songs are coming along.

First off, the freedom and drive we have on this album is far exceeding what we were doing on "Through The Ashes." Being able to take our time without a deadline breathing down our necks has been priceless, when we started writing in August (I think) of last year we had made February our time to get into the studio and start recording, but as we went along, the thought of going into the studio then, just to get the album out in a certain time frame became less appealing.

Metallica - New Album To Be Issued In 2007

TheRockRadio.com (www.therockradio.com) report that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich told England's BBC Radio 1 that the group's new album is likely to be released in the summer or early autumn of 2007.

Ulrich explained, "I think we've realized that the creative process works a little slower for us than it used to, and we're OK with that. It's not a bad thing, unless, of course, you're waiting for a record."

Ulrich added that the band now is far more relaxed than the turbulent state in which it recorded 2003's 'St. Anger'. The drummer said, "Everybody's getting along, having a great time... Back on ('St. Anger'), it was just a very different experience 'cause we had to kind of get it back together. Now everything's cool."

Metallica is recording the new album, its ninth studio effort, with famed producer Rick Rubin.

The band is currently on a European festival tour, during which it has debuted a new song and has also played its classic 1986 album "Master Of Puppets" in its entirety.

Queensryche - Frontman Explains Arrest

Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate has issued the following update regarding the recent report that the entire band was arrested on June 11 at the Amsterdam, Netherlands, airport for allegedly smuggling illegal firearms:

"What a day! At the airport in Amsterdam, we were all lined up at the ticket counter checking in for the flight to Oslo. The 35 pieces of luggage to check were being lined up and I turned to Adam, our tour manager, and whispered 'Remember, there's a gun in our bags,' referring to the replica Glock 45 handgun that we use on stage. In a second of confusion, he says to the ticket agent, 'Oh, yeah, not to worry but we have a gun in this suitcase. Before he could explain that it wasn't a real gun but a replica, airport police swarmed in on us and the questioning began. Apparently, unknown to us, any gun, whether real or fake, is highly illegal in Holland. Quick-thinking Adam realized that this was suddenly getting ugly and that we might get detained and miss the flight, thus putting the show in Oslo in jeopardy. He instantly informed them that the bag in question was his. Before I could blink, they arrested him and took him away. He looked back at me and said, 'Don't worry, get on the plane and I'll call you later.' As I watched him being led away, the ticket agent handed me my boarding pass and said, 'Have a nice flight.' Right. The rest of the entourage boarded the plane and journeyed to Oslo without further incident. Just before showtime, a very stressed out Adam burst into our dressing room full of tales from his eventful day. There was no jail time, only a fine, and oh, yeah...they confiscated the gun."

Dragonlord - Tour Cancelled

The following announcement has been posted on the official Dragonlord (The Black Metal side project of Testament guitarist Eric Peterson) website :

"I have been informed that Gian Pyres, Dragonlord guitarist, has developed very bad tendonitis in his left hand. Accordingly, his doctor advises refraining from playing guitar for the immediate future for fear of more permanent damage. Therefore, he is not available for the scheduled Dragonlord tour and thus the Dragonlord tour must be postponed at this time.

He apologizes for any and all inconveniences as does Dragonlord, and hopes that the tour can be rescheduled as soon as possible. At this time, due to the foregoing unforeseen problem, the Dragonlord Tour from June 23, 2006 to July 8, 2006, is cancelled.

Best Regards,

Dragonlord Management"
