After the success of the ongoing 'The Bay Strikes Back Tour' in North America, featuring Testament, Exodus and Death Angel, a second U.S. leg of this tour was recently announced and it will take place through September and October of this year. The tour's announcement follows up on frontman Chuck Billy's recent comments that recently-returning drummer Dave Lombardo (who played on their 1999 album The Gathering) was going to be involved in the making of their next studio album, which is intended for a 2023 release.

In a recent interview on the Full Metal Jackie radio show, Testament frontman Chuck Billy offered an update on two projects that he is planning to release later this year or next year. One is the upcoming Testament album, which will be, not only their first since 2020's Titans Of Creation, but the first to feature the recently-returning drummer Dave Lombardo since 1999's The Gathering. His other project is his debut solo album, which he announced last year and its direction will be slightly different from the traditional thrash metal sound of Testament.

It seems that Act Of Denial - the international melodic death metal act featuring Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, ex-Death, Sadus) and Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) among others - isn't really a one-off project. The band was recently asked on Facebook if there are plans to follow up last year's debut album Negative, and Act Of Denial themselves simply replied, "Sure". Stay tuned for updates on this.

Scottish deathcore band Bleed From Within announce Shrine, their sixth full length instalment to be released on June 3rd 2022 (Nuclear Blast Records). It was recorded at Real World Studios and at Bleed From Within's HQ, UK. Mixing was handled by Adam 'Nolly' Getgood and Sebastian Sendon, with engineering handled by Adam 'Nolly' Getgood and Bleed From Within. The artwork was created by David Provan. Ukrainian black metal stalwarts Drudkh are releasing an official music video for the new song, "The Nocturnal One". The video was originally not slated for release until later this year, along with a new record from the band. However, due to the increasingly dangerous situation in their homeland, being situated in the epicentre of the invasion, the band has requested that the video be released immediately as a sign of Ukrainian resistance. The clip was directed by Jean Valnoir Simoulin.
