Aeternus - Parts Ways With Drummer

The following message was posted by frontman Ares on Aeternus' official MySpace page:

"A while ago it was decided to let S Winter go from his status as Aeternus' drummer. This due to the fact that he lives too far away from us others and it became a too big burden to have that type of slow flow in the band.
It was a shitty decision to make, but also an important one.

He's a great drummer and and truly among very few are so dedicated as he is and it made it hard to take this step. Never the less, it was done.

These days, a drummer in Bergen is under audition for a shot at the drumseat in Aeternus! He's working on some songs and will soon have a jam with the band.
Then we'll see and take it from there...

This isn't really breaking news as it didn't happen yesterday, but I wanted to wait with these news and that's just the way it!

We thank Winter for all he did, it was a hell of a lot. He was inspiring and talented and he's a great person, we wish him the very best with whatever course he puts his life in."

Hatesphere - Part Ways With Vocalist & Cancel European Tour

The following message has been posted on the band's official website:

"As a result of personal issues, HateSphere and vocalist Jacob Bredahl have parted ways. This has been in the air for a little while now and is without doubt, the best decision for the band. Having to tour with a person who's not able to give it one hundred percent in the future and vice versa is pointless. We'd like to thank Jacob for 10 years of hard work and good times, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours! This may come as a shock for many of you but we can only emphasize that HateSphere will continue and are already in the midst of auditioning new singers.

In effect of this and some unanticipated, economical circumstances, we have been forced to cancel our upcoming European tour with Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth. We are very sorry for that but have seen no other solution, as it would be too difficult to find a new singer in only ten days. The gigs we have after the tour will not be affected by this, and we promise you all to come back soon and make it up to you.

Jacob and Pepe have always been a part of what is called HateSphere, so no question that this is also weird for the rest of the band. As you probably know, Pepe has always been writing practically all the music, so as far as that matter goes, it shouldn't mean that much. Also, the song writing for the next album is about to start and we are looking forward to work together as a new and revitalized group.

We know all you fans will have tons of questions but what's been said here explains everything, so please refrain from asking questions regarding this subject. Jacob left on amicable terms and we are simply moving on. We realize this has to be weird for you guys, to see almost the entire band being replaced just within three months, but there's no other way and we have so much more music in us, so why stop now? Hopefully you will respect our decisions and support us in the future - We are still here and will be back sooner than you think, to kick you in the ass!

See you all on the road soon!

Cheers,
HateSphere"

Ensiferum - Part Ways With Keyboardist

As posted on the band's website, Ensiferum has unfortunately suffered another member loss in the band as the band's long-time keyboard player Meiju Enho decided to leave the band. The band expresses their regret for her decision to depart the band, but despite the break-up the band will victoriously go on! You can read Meiju's afterwords here.

Emmi Silvennoinen from the band Exsecratus has been substituting Meiju from the beginning of this year (2007) and continues to act as the live/session keyboard player for Ensiferum until further notice.

Atrocity - Album Update

The following message was posted on Atrocity's official website:

"Finally the waiting has an end! The new Atrocity album Werk 80 II will be released at the 8th February 2008.

Alex Krull: "On the 8th February 2008 Werk 80 II is gonna be released. A quite fitting date as we find! To be serious, we took a lot of time for the production to get the best result. All friends of the first Werk 80 will like the second one too. This time we have worked together with an orchestra and a choir. So the whole album has gained a bit more of a classical touch which I personally like a lot. Everything sounds very harmonic and organic. The work on this album has been intense and thrilling. On the first Werk 80 album we also used classical elements but we enforced this on the new one. Thus the electronic parts got moved a little bit into the background. We didn't want to do the same on this successive album but including new elements and developing our style. I promise you Werk 80 II is gonna be a class of its own worth waiting for it."

As on the first Werk 80 release the following up contains mega hits of the 80ies. Pictures from the choir recording sessions you will find here. The coverartwork will be a delicious case indeed. Alex continues: "This time we got a very special covermodel - we couldn't have chosen any better. The whole artwork is state of the art and dark at the same time. We won't say more at this moment."

In november there will be released an online single, check out further news!"

Fairyland - Third Album On The Way

Keyboardist Phillippe "Phil" Giordana of French Symphonic Power Metal band Fairyland has issued the following update:

"I just dived into the song writing phase for the next album, with already 1 song finished 100% and 4 more that are at an advanced stage.

Fairyland will now present itself as a solo project, without any permanent line-up. Some posts, such as drums and rhythmic guitars, will probably be held throughout the album by the same guests in order to keep a main guideline. For the rest, many guests will bring their personal participation, giving a "metal-opera" touch to the different songs. The guests list is getting longer day after day, with already a few names that will be quite familiar to metal fans.

More news coming soon..."

Thine Eyes Bleed - To Release Sophomore Album In March

Official The End Records Press Release:

The End Records has set a release date of March 4th, 2008 for the self-titled sophomore release from Canadian thrashers Thine Eyes Bleed.

In a band update, several members voiced their thoughts on the new album:

"This ain't your one-note-chug-along and dance to-gay-haircut metal. There is thought behind the music and passion behind the musicianship. Metal that isn't compromising or commercial. This is the real deal. All killer and no filler... no singing... no 'breakdowns'. Real metal for real metalers. Keep it brutal and stay heavy." - Johnny Araya, bassist

"We never really discussed the direction. We all just knew it had be honest, unrellenting, abusive, and evil. That is what metal was all about in our opinion. The outcome is violent and makes me smile from begining to end." - Jeff Phillips, guitarist

"We never set any direction for this album, we did it for ourselves... It's a much more focused album than our debut and it's going to show. It's an in your face metal album for the true metalheads out there.. the only way I can describe it is pure evil..." - Justin Wolfe, singer

To view a larger version of the album artwork, go here.

The band is currently scheduling some tour dates this fall across North America.

The band re-released their 2005 debut for The End Records, entitled "In The Wake Of Separation", in May of 2006. The CD included the bonus track "Better off Dead" (previously available only in Japan) and the video for "Cold Victim". Also last year, Thine Eyes Bleed took part in the mega-successful North American and European legs of the 2006 Unholy Alliance Tour, which featured Slayer, Children Of Bodom, Mastodon and Lamb Of God.

Municipal Waste - Video Banned From YouTube

The video for the Municipal Waste track 'Headbanger Face Rip' has been banned by You Tube. Filmed by the legendary 80s cult splatter/horror independent film company Troma Entertainment, the 'gore version' of the recording has been deemed by You Tube to have content which is inappropriate.

This banned version of the track features the legendary Troma style blood, guts and gore seen in many of their genre-defining B-movie style shock flicks, which fit well with Municipal Waste's outrageous party attitude. Fans who still want to watch this controversial version of the track can still view it online here and the TV-friendly recording can still be viewed on YouTube here.

Municipal Waste's "The Art Of Partying" is out now worldwide.

Nevermore - Guitarist Parts Ways With Band

According to his official website, guitarist Steve Smyth has officially parted ways with Nevermore, citing personal and business differences.

"All things find their end eventually, and at this time I wish to make it clear that this was mutually agreed between the band and myself," Steve said in a statement.

"I will continue on with other aspects of my music career, including the upcoming release of The Esseness Project, an all-instrumental album in the vein of progressive rock that is now finished and being prepared for release."

He continued, "After a year and four months of being out of the touring scene due to ill health and then a kidney transplant, I have finally been given a full health clearance by my doctors to go back on the road, and I am now ready to return to the stage.

"I am proud and extremely honored to have been a guest of Uli Jon Roth at his Sky Academy concert series this past weekend, August 24th and 25th , in L.A. What an awesome experience! To jam with one of the greatest, as well as several other incredible guitarists and musicians who have been big influences on my playing over the years, and to make new friends as well, the whole thing was just incredible. Many thanks to Uli for inviting me, it was truly an honor!

"I am now embarking on a six-week of tour of Europe with my friends from the Danish thrash metal band, SPV recording artists Hatesphere, first supporting Behemoth in Poland, and then joining the Dimmu Borgir tour. I have been a fan of Hatesphere and friends with the band since 2003, when they opened for Testament at a festival we played together, and absolutely look forward to getting out with them and together, crushing Europe!"
