Threshold - Parts Ways With Singer

The following message was posted on Threshold's official website:

"Mac has confirmed that he's left Threshold. In a statement he told fans that he knew the timing was bad but thanked them for all their support. He also wished the band all the best and expressed his gratitude to the band's original singer Damian Wilson for standing in for him at last weekend's festivals.
Threshold have confirmed that Damian will perform with them at the Subtacto Festival in Norway on 4 August. Talks are also in progress to see if he can perform at all of Threshold's remaining 2007 shows."

Previously, Threshold's singer Mac has astonished his fellow band members by deciding not to perform at Metal Camp and Earthshaker festivals in Slovenia and Germany. Fortunately the band's previous singer Damian Wilson has come to the rescue and will perform at the festivals with the band for the first time since 1997. Damian Wilson is currently lead singer for the band Headspace who recently supported Ozzy Osbourne for UK shows including Wembley Arena.

Kataklysm - Cancel US Tour Dates

The following update was posted on the official Kataklysm website:

After much thought, Kataklysm have decided to cancel the few dates they had lined up with Devildriver next month, in favor to enter the studio.

Comments guitarist J-F Dagenais:
"I think we - all in the band - looking forward to hitting the road again and raise mayhem, but there's a lot of magic that just created with the writing process and all of us are too much into it to break the mood and progress. My studio is ready and we dediced to start recording the new album "PREVAIL" on August 15th and work on it til we leave for our European tour at the end of September. We also decided that we will mix the album in January in Florida with producer JASON SUECOF (Trivium, Chimaira, Black Dahlia Murder), which we are looking forward to. Myself and Jason will make sure the album is as flawless as possible with a crushing production!! So for the many fans that were hitting up our MySpace and website, looking forward to seeing us live this summer... we sincerely apologize but it's for a good cause, trust me. On the other side of things, we have some very serious offers for Nov. and Dec. so we are planning on hitting the road in the States then. There's some big things in the horizon... We will keep you posted!"

Dying Fetus - Replace Drummer

The following message was posted on Dying Fetus's official website:

"We would like to announce the addition of new drummer Trey Williams, from Baltimore, MD. We regret it has become necessary to part ways with Duane Timlin, however we thank Duane for his contributions to the band and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. This lineup change will not have any effect on our tour plans, which will go ahead as scheduled. Trey gave us a fantastic audition, we have seen firsthand that he has the professionalism and dedication we would expect. We look forward to our next tour plans with great confidence - we feel the fans will agree that this change will be good for the band and our live performances."

Brainstorm - Parts Ways With Bassist, Seeks Replacement

The following message was posted on Brainstorm's official website:

After more than 15 years Brainstorm and long time bass player Andreas Mailänder has decided to go separate ways. "... Since my working situation is not going to ease up in the long run I won't be able to combine it with the upcoming touring for the new BS release. I'm left with no choice but to leave Brainstorm...". (read more below).
The Brainstorm guys are now in search for a new fourstringer to fill the vacant spot. If you think you are the right guy for the job send your application to info@brainstorm-web.net or to Metal Blade Records, attn. Brainstorm, P.O. Box 1332, D-73054 Eislingen, Germany."

Andi's statement:

"TIME To Say Goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!
15 years of Brainstorm - a damn long time!
... a dream I have worked hard for: record deal, successful releases, festivals all over the world! Endless tours, bands and friends all over the world.

Because my working situation is not going to ease up in the long run and I won't be able to combine it with the upcoming touring for the new Brainstorm release, I'm left with no choice but to leave Brainstorm...Too often the guys had to do without me, in difficult times they always stood beside me as friends, as the BS family and supported me in every possible way. I don't want to strain this friendship any further!!
I'm certain that the new BS album will deservedly bring the band further forward, the pay for the hard work of the band!! After so many hardworking years with each other, I don't want to hold the band back anymore and allow the band a kickstart for the release of the new album and the upcoming world tour. Of course I'll continue to be present through my Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/amailaender) and will follow Brainstorm's career with mixed feelings... and please feel free to contact me whoever you are!
My thanks go out to the BS guys, Todde, Andy, Mille, Dieter and their families, our super BS crew, webmistress Marlies, my family, my parents, my brother, Metal Blade Records and most of all our fantastic BS fans all over the world!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's our doorway to survive".
Best wishes,
Andi Mailaender

Ulver - New Album On The Way

The following message was posted on Ulver's official website:

"Many of you have been waiting for sound, and we are sorry for the silence. We needed to be alone, without the hustle and bustle of the living. We are uncomfortable with the world, the industry and our place. We have been working, sluggishly, well aware we could end up with nothing. Nonetheless we believe we have succeeded in giving our fears some kind of form. "Shadows Of The Sun", our 7th full-length album, is finished and will be released October 1st. We feel it is our most personal record to date. Low-key, dark, and tragic. As we are."

The Gathering - DVD/CD On The Way And Band Infos

The following message was posted on The Gathering's official website:

"Dear all,

Hope you are all fine and well. I have some updates for you:

A Noise Severe DVD and live CD:
Yes, we are almost ready with our double DVD A Noise Severe as well as our double live CD. The end of this month we will master both.
A special package will be on presale on our webshop very soon, together with more info, such as running order, info about an in-depth documentary of the recording of our album Home and much more. Expect a webshop release somewhere end of July, and in 'normal' shops around October 2007.
It will be a release to be proud of!

Celebration the 10th anniversary of Nighttime Birds:
Not so suprising news: Century Media will re-release Nighttime Birds as a double CD with new artwork in Europe the 27th of july 2007.
We only saw the artwork, and it looked really chique. It seems it will come with an extra CD containing bonus tracks which were also released on our 'B sides' albums.
So no new tracks! I don't know if the album will be remastered.

Home vinyl:
The vinyl release of Home is going that quickly, it is almost sold out.
The End Records only has some black vinyls left. So hurry!

Auditions:
We have recieved a mere 170 demo's. Thanks a lot! Yes, it is still possible to send out your mp3's to: audition:(AT)gathering(DOT)nl. Especially male vocalist are welcome to send their demo's, as we are still in search for both males and females.
The audition will close when we have made a decision, so go ahead."

Cheers!
Hans
