Mayhem - Upcoming Album Details

Season Of Mist has set an April 23 release date for the new Mayhem album, "Ordo Ab Chao". A track from the CD, entitled "Anti", is available for download at this location.

"Ordo Ab Chao" (view cover artwork here) tracklisting:

01. A Wise Birthgiver
02. Wall Of Water
03. Great Work Of Ages
04. Deconsecrate
05. Illuminate Eliminate
06. Psychic Horns
07. Key To The Storms
08. Anti

Commented guitarist Blasphemer (a.k.a. Rune Erickson): "The sound is raw and powerful, and listening to it, it reminds me of the 'Wolf's Lair Abyss' era, only more varied and more philosophical. The album also contains the most aggressive songs in the Mayhem history as well as the most wicked and darkest."

The upcoming CD will mark Mayhem's first release since 1993 with vocalist Attila Csihar back behind the microphone.

Csihar rejoined Mayhem in November 2004 as the replacement for departed singer Maniac (real name Sven Erik Kristiansen).

Soulitude - New Album This Year & To Become A Live Band

There will be another work released in 2007.
Almost 100% of the music is written and now it is time to start writing the lyrics.
This time it won't be a conceptual album. Music is more fresh and up-to-date, less epic but more solid and powerfull. I've been in contact with a couple of musicians for the vocals and drums and I hope to start recording in spring so the album may be ready at the end of spring or summer.
There won't be so many singers as in the first album because I'd like to have fix members so Soulitude can became also a live band and not only studio project.
Cover artwork is going to be done again by Xabier Amezaga, that is also the webmaster of this site.

"We are really sorry to inform about this cos we were looking forward for these gigs, but here are few reasons for the cancellations:

- The flight tickets of the band haven't been booked although
the gigs were so close.
- The local promotion company hadn't solved the Venue problems
and tickets.
- Lack of coordination abilities.
- They didn't send any agreements regarding the gigs."

My Dying Bride - Lineup Changes, Tour Dates Announced

Original bassist Adrian Jackson of My Dying Bride has left the band. He's left for a future in the USA and doesn't seem to have plans for My Dying Bride. He annouced his departure to the band on the 5th January.

Here is a statement by My Dying Bride:

"We have parted in good faith and wish him luck with his new life out there. It has absolutely no effect on any of the gigs we have confirmed. We have already rehearsed his replacement to gig readiness and she is looking forward to playing for the first time in My Dying Bride. More on his replacement, Lena, soon.

Secondly we have had to replace long term stand in drummer / thunder truck / Uberlunatic John Bennet due to his work commitments. He is saddened by the fact he cannot drum for My Dying Bride anymore as are we, but we understand that we all have to make a living and wish him luck too in his job.

It's not all doom and gloom though as we have been rehearsing with excellent drummer Dan Mullins of Thine, Bal Sagoth and Sermon Of Hypocrisy fame and again he too is now at gig readiness. MDB has a new fresh focused feel to it and we are looking forward to the shows with a vengeance".

The upcoming shows that My Dying Bride will play will be:

23.03.07 - Petofi Csornok, Budapest, Hungary (Metalmania Festival)
24.03.07 - Spodek, Katowice, Poland (Metalmania Festival)
20.04.07 - Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands
21.04.07 - Pestpop Festival, Wieze, Belgium
16.06.07 - ArtMania Festival, Sibiu, Romania
11.08.07 - M'era Luna Festival, Hildesheim, Germany (Flughafen Drispenstedt)
12.08.07 - Summer Darkness Festival, Utrecht, Netherlands

Circle Of Dead Children - New Drummer Finally Found

Pittsburgh's Circle Of Dead Children have added drummer Matt Francis to their line-up. Vocalist Joe Horvath comments:

"At a point when we had all but thrown dirt over our own casket, life has once more been injected with the vacancy of the drum position being finally filled. Binghamton, New York's, Matt Francis has recently joined Circle Of Dead Children and we plan to soon begin work on a yet-to-be-titled sixth release due out during the summer of 2007, on Willowtip Records. Matt's addition to CODC drives the band to its most caustic and explosive level to date. Blackened iron hails to the fans and fellow bands who have pushed us through the downtimes and continue to support us into the future. Keep screaming."

Obituary - To Record New Album

Obituary frontman John Tardy has posted the following message on the band's official website:

"All is going well with the new DVD and we really appreciate all the support! 'Frozen Alive' has sparked a bunch of new shows that we have set up! Here they all are and we are really looking forward to all of them. Some of the newer shows are in France, Mexico with Sadus and believe it or not we are finally going to make it to Australia! We have had offers in the past, but they just never worked out. This will be our first time in Australia, so for all of you that have emailed over the years about coming there, we finally will have a chance to meet! We also have some South American dates we are working on and as soon as I find out for sure I will let you know.

"We are still working on the new CD and are getting really excited about these new songs. This is some pretty sick shit! I still do not know what we are going to do about a record label. We are still talking with a few labels and trying to work something out! Hopefully something gets done soon, so we can move forward and concentrate on future events! We still plan on starting to record in March!!!"

Jesu - Tour Delayed

Jesu will be forced to miss the beginning of their tour with Isis, which kicks off this week in California. The group has issued the following statement:

"We are sorry to report that Jesu are still stuck in England and will NOT be playing the Spaceland, L.A headline/release party; work permits for Jesu have still not been cleared by U.S officials/customs and the band are not allowed into the U.S until the permits are officially cleared. The band are yet to receive a date of clearance and simply have to wait until they do so before entering the U.S, hence Jesu will not be appearing at any shows with Isis until the permits are available and Jesu can leave England.

Please watch this space for further news; once Jesu have their permits we will post confirmation of this and the first show that Jesu will play in the U.S. Hopefully the band will not miss more than the first week of this tour, being the band's first tour of the U.S.

In related band news, Jesu bassist Diarmuid Dalton will not be playing any of the U.S dates due to being refused a work permit for the U.S for this tour. Diarmuid has been replaced for this tour by long time collaborator (and fellow Birmingham, England native) bass player Dave Cochrane (Justin and Dave played together in Head Of David, Sweet Tooth, Ice, God and now their new project together Grey Machine).

Drummer Ted Parsons has also been unable to make this first Jesu U.S tour due to family commitments and has been replaced by drummer Danny Walker, a Los Angeles native who plays for many bands including Intronaut."
