Whyzdom - New Album Title Revealed

French metallers Whyzdom, who recently announced the addition of singer Clémentine Delauney to the group's ranks Link], have set Blind? as the title of their upcoming second album.

The band commented: "It is dedicated to people who follow misleading paths, misguided by the ones who love or hate or try to control them, or even sometimes by their own pride. We are pretty convinced that each and everyone of us can recognize him or herself in this situation one day or the other. Following this idea, we called this album: Blind?. We are even happier to announce that the recording sessions will start on 21st Feb. 2011. The whole week (and more if needed) will be dedicated to drums. Other sessions will follow until spring. Mix and mastering should be done during summer. We expect to release Blind?, late 2011."

Mercenary - New Album Cover Art Revealed

Danish metallers Mercenary will release their sixth album, Metamorphosis, on February 25 via NoiseArt Records. The CD was produced by Jacob Hansen (Raunchy, Volbeat, Nightrage, Hatesphere, Pyramaze).

Regarding the CD's cover artwork (see below), the band states: "There's, of course, a lot of obvious (and indeed slightly cheesy) self-referential symbolism regarding the rebirth of the band in the cover artwork. But apart from that we felt that the motive of a phoenix was a really fitting expression of many of René's lyrical themes on the album, as they deal with personal and existential crisis, overcoming personal obstacles and how we can sometimes redefine ourselves in the process of taking responsibility for altering the conditions of our very lives. This idea of personal freedom can be a very frightening thought for some, but it's actually a message of hope and optimism ? we can always take control of our lives and free ourselves of inner or outer constraints, or at least take pride in the struggle to do so. (Okay, dropping all the intellectual pretense, we just liked the artwork because it was freaking bird on fire ? how cool is that!?

On a serious note, though, we also felt that a simple, raw and iconic visual theme would support the musical direction of the new album. We feel that the songs are our strongest ever, they're no-bullshit, focused and straight to the point, and our good friend Don G really nailed these concepts with his artwork.

Finally, we have also been searching for a new logo for many years (also before the recent changes in line-up) but we never felt that we found a good enough alternative until now. With the direction of the new line-up and the new album, we not only felt that we had as good an occasion as any, but we also really liked the idea of a less polished, more raw logo which could reflect the changes in musical expression."

Metamorphosis tracklist:

01. Through The Eyes Of The Devil
02. The Follower
03. In A River Of Madness
04. Memoria
05. Velvet Lies
06. In Bloodred Shades
07. Shades Of Grey
08. On The Edge Of Sanity
09. The Black Brigade

A Forest Of Stars - Ink Deal With Lupus Lounge / Prophecy Productions

Official press release

The year is 1891. The members of the Gentleman's Club of A Forest Of Stars, an exclusive brotherhood of English Victorians, consider themselves to be exponents of their glorious and pompous, at times decadent era characterized by extreme opposites. A Forest Of Stars channel the experiences gained from their numerous meetings hazed by opium and absinthe, occult rites and séances in the form of a previously unheard-of ghostly and hypnotic music, filled with the spirit of the glorious Victorian Age - a harrowing testimony of their many spiritual and sensual excesses.

For their future undertakings, the Gentleman's Club has now found a loyal partner in Lupus Lounge / Prophecy Productions who are going to support these artists in the realisation of their five next albums. The Club's Representative The Gentleman has this to say about this decision of mutual cooperation: "We are proudly humbled to join the ranks of such great and noble artists. It is an honour to do business with a Mechanical Phonograph Recording Label that allows us to do precisely as we please and that has ensured our much-cherished Gentleman's Club will not unduly fall into ruin or disrepair. In short, we could not ask for a more fitting partnership."

Izegrim - New Album Cover Art And Tracklist Revealed

Listenable Records press release

Dutch death thrash ragers Izegrim are releasing their new album Code Of Consequences on Listenable records On February 28th.

Jeroen (guitar) commented: "In this day and age of cd's packed with subjects about war, we thought it was time for something different. With this cover, the designer Matt of Darkwave Designs captured the atmosphere that reflects multiple songs on the album. Code Of Consequences stands for everything a person can and will do to achieve his/her goals. The older we get, the more we have to achieve, the more consequences we have to bear. Is this person on the cover walking towards the city (why?) or is he walking away from this city (what happened and what did he do?). Perhaps he's standing still and looking at the inferno that is unleashed upon this city (is he the last survivor?). After reading the lyrics, people can decide for themselves what this person is doing. With the flaming logo above the city, it really makes it an "Izegrimesque" cover !"

Code Of Consequences cover art] tracklist:

01. Victim Of Honor
02. My Secret Society
03. Incommunicado
04. Center Of Momentum
05. Deathstrip
06. Final Farewell
07. Fade Into Obscurity
08. Psychopathic Mind
09. Population Zero
10. Code Of Consequences
