Neuraxis - New Album Cover Art Revealed

Official press release

Quebecois metallers Neuraxis have unveiled the cover of their upcoming album, Asylon, which will be released in North America on February 15th, 2011.

The cover art was created by artist Dennis Sibeijn of Damnengine Artwork, who worked with the band on their previous album, The Thin Line Between, as well with Job For A Cowboy, Chimaira and more. Asylon was recorded at Wildsound Studio with producer Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Last Felony, The Agonist). Prosthetic has launched the pre-order for the album, at its official webstore.

Vocalist Alex Leblanc commented on the cover: "So here is the cover for Asylon. As many of you will see, it is very different from all our previous album covers. Since the lyrics and the music are so connected on the new record, we wanted the cover to represent perfectly the vibe... dark, visceral and heavy. We used a lot of dark green to represent the sick/poisonous mood of the lyrics."

Ava Inferi - New Album Details

Season Of Mist press release

The fourth album of atmospheric metallers Ava Inferi is entitled Onyx and has been scheduled for a February 14th, 2011 release (one day later in the US).

Onyx cover art] tracklist:

01. Onyx
02. The Living End
03. A Portal
04. ((Ghostlights))
05. Majesty
06. The Heathen Island
07. By Candlelight & Mirrors
08. Venice In Fog

Guitarist Rune Eriksen commented on the artwork: "(Witch)Crafted and dragged into sunlight by Costin Chioreanu / Twilight13Media (Absu, Grave, Demonical), this illustration portraits a more eerie visual side of Ava Inferi than our previous arts. A mysterious and sinister approach to Ava Inferi's aesthetics indeed. I really feel that it connects with the album on a musical and lyrical level too, as it is creating some sort of a window into the fields of the inspirations behind this new offering. We have always dwelled in the more obscure side of things, and even though we have weaved an occasional Wiccan flame or Bacchanalian praise into our arts, we've always cherished and explored the aspects of "horror". With Onyx we have definitely gone deeper into it. Anyway, Costin (who also did the clip for "Last Sign Of Summer") has really done a great job, and we are thankful and grateful for the dedication and hard work he put into this work. Multumesc foarte mult!"

The Project Hate MCMXCIX - New Album Details

Official press release

Industrial death metallers The Project Hate MCMXCIX's new album Bleeding The New Apocalypse (Cum Victriciis In Manibus Armis) will hit the stores on next February 14th (one day later in the US).

Bleeding The New Apocalypse (Cum Victriciis In Manibus Armis) cover art] tracklist:

01. Iesus Nazarenus, Servus Mei
02. They Shall All Be Witnesses
03. A Revelation Of Desecrated Heavens
04. Summoning Majestic War
05. The Serpent Crowning Ritual
06. Bring Forth Purgatory

"So, you have digested the title for a while", mainman Lord K. Philipson comments. "Now it's time for the cover. Artist Marko Saarelainen (who you all should hire to do your artwork or websites by the way) has once again dug deep into his disturbed mind and fired up an incredibly fitting work of art to go with the title. Just look at it, check out all the small details and have the title in mind... Taste it... Bleeding The New Apocalypse (Cum Victriciis In Manibus Armis)... That's what you are in for this time. The darkness of the music on this piece is perfectly reflected in Marko's artwork. There is a slight twist to this cover, perhaps you will see it, perhaps you won't. Just acknowledge the fact that in a bunch of weeks you will have the chance to support The Hate and Season Of Mist by actually buying this masterpiece and go thru the incredibly good looking booklet that comes with it. Marko's outdone himself in that area as well, not just with the cover As Dark Angel once put it... Darkness descends. You are now beginning to watch it, piece by piece."

Amon Amarth - New Album Title Revealed

Metal Blade Records press release

Kings of Swedish death metal Amon Amarth have just announced the title of the band's forthcoming album as Surtur Rising.

Due out in the spring of 2011, Surtur Rising marks the group's 8th full-length studio release and undoubtedly one of 2011's most anticipated releases by fans and critics alike. Surtur Rising is the follow up to the highly acclaimed, 2008 release, Twilight of the Thunder God, which landed the #7 spot in Revolver Magazine's Top 20 Albums of 2008 and what Metal Sucks called " bottomless gauntlet of riffs that the band endlessly takes gargantuan swigs from, sounding both lush and emotive as well as skull crushingly heavy... every goddamn one is a chest-beating anthem."

Outburn declared how Twilight Of The Thunder God "will render you nothing short of ecstatic" and Time Out New York noted that "Amon Amarth plays some of the most unabashedly epic metal you're likely to find these days."

Be sure to stay tuned to MetalBlade.com for more details on Surtur Rising.
