Bizarrekult - New Black Metal Project From Russia

Bizarrekult is a new cold, grim and depressive black metal band from Russia.

Bizarre, unique band member of the project, describes his band as "a meeting of classical Black Metal with the hypnotic sounds and shamanic intonations of Tatar language."

For Bizarre, "Bizarrekult" is a message for those who are tired of this living, tired of chaos in the world where misanthropy becomes nothing but the only life codex for everyone. It is a new total KVLT!!!"

Mayhem - Banned From Playing Poland; Vocalist Issues Statement

Mayhem vocalist Attila Csihar has issued the following statement regarding the recent attempt by the "Polish government" to ban the band from playing their country:

"A fascist-religious government in Europe hides behind its democratic façade!

"Some time ago, Mayhem was set to play in Poland. And we were very excited to deliver a great show to our Polish fans! The Polish government didn't warn us of any requirements, rules or guidelines in advance. So, thinking that all the details were taken care of, we set out with all our equipment and our entire stage set. One day before the show however we were informed that the Polish government had banned us from playing the country! And without any official statement or explanation!

"When we looked into the situation, we saw that many Polish newspapers claimed that this action was merely based in politics as it was close to the next Polish elections. It seems that politics and religion are very strongly interlocked in the country. Could this be a new form of religious dictatorship and inquisition?

"Needless to say, this caused a huge existential and financial loss for the band and our promoters. Not to mention a huge theft to the hundreds of fans who had bought tickets in advance.

"How much longer do we have to suffer from these false, distorted, sick, politically religious regimes and dictatorships? How can a simple metal band be deemed a serious danger for the government and its citizens? It shows the weakness in Poland 'democracy.'

"I grew up in an ex-communist country just like Poland. And I remember how the official history had 'changed' from one day to the next. I remember the chaos and confusion this caused in the school system and realized this during my final high school exams in 1988.

"This world is totally fucked up and hypnotised! And we are all suffering from a lifetime of lies! I know that my Polish friends can understand and relate to what I am saying. I recently heard from the Hungarian metal band Sear Bliss that their show in Poland was raided by armed police-commandos in ski-masks only moments before show time!

"Someone must take a stand. Our only weapons are musical instruments yet they reply to us with machine guns! I am not afraid of priests and politics! How far will this go? Where has the freedom of speech, art and religion gone? Maybe it is in the ass of their pope? I would like to tell the Minister of Poland and his government to kiss all of our asses and fuck off!"

"One Cold Winter's Night" was recorded on February 11, 2006 at the historic Rockefeller Musichall in Oslo, Norway. Kamelot enlisted renowned film and video director Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Lacuna Coil, Iin Flames) to chronicle the night's events. Bringing with him from Gothenberg, Sweden, Patric had a large crew of professionals and equipment, including 18 cameras, that would be used in and around the concert grounds.

The title for the band's first DVD to date (based on an earlier Kamelot song title) was chosen long before the actual shoot. Ironically this winter turned out to be one of the longest and coldest in the country's history, with enormous amounts of snow and numerous chaos-causing blizzards.

In other Kamelot news, two more supports for the band's North American tour have been announced. The Ben Jackson Group and Cryptic Vision will appear along side Kamelot at the 16.09.06 - State Theater, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA show.

Sarah Jezebel Deva - Comments About Dissection's Frontman Passing

Cradle Of Filth backing singer 'Sarah Jezebel Deva', has sent a statement to Blabbermouth regarding the passing of Dissection frontman Jon Nödveidt.

Nödtveidt, 31, was found dead on August 16 at his apartment in Hässelby, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden, the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In December 1997, Nödveidt was arrested for the murder of Josef Ben Meddaour and served seven years for accessory to murder and possession of an illegal firearm.

In a posting on the official Angtoria forum, Sarah Jezebel Deva stated in part, "I think commiting suicide, although very close to doing it myself at times, is bullshit! What the fuck was he thinking? Ending the Dissection legacy by making a kvlt statement and killing yaself! Fucking bullshit, if you ask me. . . Whatever his reasons, RIP, but I still think he is an idiot for doing this." (Read Sarah's entire posting here.

Elaborating on her online posting, Sarah Jezebel Deva has sent the following statement to Blabbermouth:

"People do or say things without thinking of the consequences ? we are ALL guilty of that. I wish people would stop acting as if they are so damn perfect.

"I can assure you my comments were NOT meant to offend ? they were totally innocent, they were said out of disappointment, nothing else.

"It doesn't matter what you say or do, people will interpret what you say how they see fit. People see what they want to see.

"The topic of Jon's death was on almost every message board and I participated in a thread on my OWN message board where the comment was extracted. I commented on what happened because I was kind of shocked. Of course you are going to be shocked when someone you once knew kills themselves.

"Anyone who read the original statement and had half a brain knew damn well I wasn't bad-mouthing him, but you can't educate the thick, can you?!

"I'm issuing this statement because I wanted to clear this up with ANYONE directly connected with the band. The rest of the judgmental, double-standard twats who made negative comments can kiss my arse!

"Thank you."
