Rage - Sign with Nuclear Blast

German metal veterans RAGE around Peavy Wagner (vocals, bass), Victor Smolski (guitar) and Mike Terrana (drums) have signed a long-term deal with NUCLEAR BLAST. In an official statement, Peavy says: "After our fantastic anniversary tour we were convinced that we want to work with a label that pushes us forward with creative ideas and full power support. With this in our backs we can jump right into the making of our next album. We imagine to do something without stylistic changes but with a wider range of sound. After the good experiences with Victor's latest solo album we want to get the Whiterussian Symphonic Orchestra involved, similar to what we did a couple of years ago on "Lingua Mortis". This time the result will be a lot harder. That's how the new songs sound we recently wrote in first rehearsals. They blend in perfectly with our latest releases."

Spiral Architect - Soon To Write New Music, Update

The band posted the following on their website:

"Yes, Spiral Architect still exists. Not much happening with the band (surprise...), due to numerous side projects... Asgeir's studio is finished and we will finally start writing some new insane metal together.

- Steinar and Lars are back from the USA/Canada-tour with Satyricon (www.satyricon.no). Øyvind has quit Arcturus (www.arcturus.no) because of moving to Stockholm (the distance will make it unable to commit to the workflow that Arcturus has lined up). Asgeir will be on tour in February with Sturmgeist (www.sturmgeist.com) and is currently recording drums and bass for the new Scariot-album (www.scariot.com). Øyvind will also be handling bass as well as vocals and some guitar solos on that album."

Waylander - Big Update From The Band

The following statement was posted on the Waylander website:

"Waylander have not rehearsed as a full band since before the recording of a 2 song promo in October. Dissatisfaction with the end result led to the decision to remove Gaz from the drum stool. We appreciate his efforts, considering he is really a bassist.

We needed a drummer who could play Waylander songs naturally so we asked original Waylander member, Den Ferran to resume his rightful place and he gleefully accepted.

It came as no surprise when disaster struck, with Fearghal Duffy resigning due to medical reasons. Fearghal had trouble with his hands, leading to tendonitis and arthritis, rendering guitar playing practically impossible. Waylander.s thoughts are with him.

A few weeks later, long term bassist Michael Proctor resigned due to complete disillusionment with being in a band, playing music etc.

Obviously, the 3 remaining members are reeling from this and the existence of Waylander has been seriously brought into question.

We will convene again in March and begin 2 months of auditions. So, Waylander once again, require members, a bassist and guitarist. A knowledge of folk music is desired as well as a grasp of what Waylander are all about. Commitment and decent equipment an absolute must. 21+ if possible.

We're not looking for Steve Vai here, just someone motivated to write music and contribute to a band environment.

The timing has been terrible as we now have to withdraw from the Skyforger tour, not to mention, turning down a French tour and keeping the several interested Record labels at arm's length for the time being.

We will search for and audition members until mid May. If the vacant positions are not filled by that stage, we will prepare a set for Day of Darkness which may very well be Waylander's farewell performance.

So, we need musicians, if anyone knows anyone suitable e-mail Ardchieftain667@yahoo.co.uk

Thank you for your time."

Severe Torture - Updade On New Album

Here's another update from the Severe Torture camp. We can't really call it a studio update because we still haven't recorded the vocals. Dennis was suffering from throat problems and after a couple of days trying, we
decided to push the recording a couple of weeks forward. We worked really hard to get the instrumental part as tight and brutal as possible and therefore we're not taking a risk with Dennis' voice. Anyway, more news
about that in the next weeks.

We're also working on the layout together with Sven / DirgeDesign. The coverartwork is finished and I can already reveil that we never saw any album cover with this many mutilated corpses on it! Joe Maloney did a great job again!

Last but not least I have uploaded 2 tracks from our upcoming live album 'Bloodletting'. You can find them at MySpace . They are 'Lost Souls' (Pestilence cover, not live) and 'Impelled to Kill' (live, originally on Misanthropic Carnage).

Balance Of Power - John K left the Band

According to a post in Biomechanichal's website(John K's other band), he decided to left the band to dedicate to Biomechanical. The following is a message from John:

"There was no other way than to leave Balance of Power, I feel i have to give Biomechanical 100% of my efforts.
Even 99% is simply not good enough and I feel splitting my energy between two bands creates an inevitable lack of commiment. It's not fair on the guys of Balance of Power to have a singer who can't really commit and also not fair on Biomechanical when I have to take time out in order to rehearse or tour with Balance of Power.
Biomechanical now have the full support of the entire team from Earache/Elitist records and at this point it would be wrong of me not to give everything I have to my band.
It was a great experience working with Balance of Power and I do think they are a very accomplished band with polished albums and very good writing in the melodic Metal genre.
Certainly the best UK band of their style! I know they now have a new vocalist and I'm sure they will continue to have a great success. I wish them all the best for the future!"

Platitude - Keyboardist Leave The Band

The band posted the following message on their website:

"We've just started the rehearsals for the upcoming gigs and the studio recording, it sounds great!
The new material is beginning to take shape and it really rocks!

Also, Andreas Lindahl is no longer a member in the band. He is now fully concentrating on his other projects, mainly Loch Vostok as well as his session work with Wuthering Heights and Manticora. We wish him all the best of luck with his endevours!

To solve all problems regarding Platitude's lineup, this is the band as it will appear on the next album:
Erik EZ Blomkvist
Gustav Köllerstrom
Wachen
Patrik Janson
Andreas Brobjer

See you soon!"
