Exussum - Signs To Dark Millennium Records

Dark Millennium Records press release

We're happy to announce that extreme metal outfit Exussum has joined forces with Dark Millennium Records.

Hailing from Colorado, Exussum is a brutal death metal outfit who's goal is creating dark, crushing death metal with an old school vibe. The Exitium Per Ignis and Seeding the Bastard Race EP's, recorded and produced by the band themselves, are both solid examples that high caliber talent doesn't strictly lie in the hands of polished, big label bands. Sharing the stage with Cephalic Carnage, All Shall Perish, Caliban, Dreaming Dead, Suffokate, among others, Exussum has been able to spread their brutality to a large audience in their 5 year existence.

Exussum is currently working on material for a full length album to be released later this year on Dark Millennium Records.

For more information on the band visit MySpace.

Ozzfest 2010 - Line Up And Dates

Last night the line up and dates for this year's line were officially announced. Here's the official press release:

More than 15 years after Ozzy Osbourne debuted Ozzfest, the defining blueprint for hard rock tours and festivals returns this August in six American cities with an explosive bill co-headlined by Ozzy and, in their first-ever Ozzfest appearance, Mötley Crüe ? touring together for the first time with Ozzy since he invited the group on their now legendary 1984 arena tour. Expect the energy to go way off the charts at the all-day extravaganza of music and deranged merriment.

The 2010 Ozzfest - back after taking a year off in 2009 and the 2008 one-off stadium spectacular in Dallas, TX with Ozzy and Metallica headlining - will kick off August 14 in San Bernardino (the birthplace of the first Ozzfest in 1996) and then make stops in Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT, Camden, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA and Boston, MA. Live Nation will promote the tour nationally.

The main stage will feature full sets from Ozzy, Mötley Crüe and Rob Halford (who last appeared on Ozzfest in 2004 with Judas Priest), performing songs from his solo career along with material from Judas Priest and Fight. Devildriver and Nonpoint will round out the main stage line-up. Second stage headliners and six-time Ozzfest veterans Black Label Society will be joined by Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow, and Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm.

Each Ozzfest date will include 13 bands on two stages with music beginning at 1:00 PM. In addition, concert-goers can once again visit the Ozzfest "Village of the Damned" featuring a mix of interactive activities, shopping and entertainment throughout the venue concourses. Tickets for the shows go on sale May 22.

Aug 14 - San Bernardino, CA - San Manuel Amphitheater
Aug 17 - Chicago, IL - First Midwest Bank Amp.
Aug 19 - Pittsburgh, PA - First Niagara Pavilion
Aug 21 - Hartford, CT - Comcast Theater
Aug 22 - Camden, NJ - Susquehanna

Cradle Of Filth - New Album Via Peaceville Records

British extreme metallers Cradle Of Filth will release their new album, All Hallows Eve, in October via Peaceville Records on the band's own AbraCadaver imprint. The group will enter Monkey Puzzle studios near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk this month to start work on the follow-up to 2008's Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder.

Cradle Of Filth remain stalwarts to the satanic horror ethos by again composing a full-blown concept album, this time based on Adam's first wife, the lascivious Demoness Lilith; throwing Medieval nuns, Knights Templars, Greek mythology and lashings of sex, occult lore and violent bloodshed into the smelting pot, to create a darkly erotic nightmare set to their unique scope of supreme vampyric metal.

For this release, the band wanted mastery of their own destiny, choosing to release the album on their very own AbraCadaver label in conjunction with Peaceville Records, home to such illicit luminaries as Darkthrone, Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Bloodbath and Gallhammer, among many others. Vocalist Dani Filth has described the move as being "a choice to move away from the artistic restrictions/mindless inhibitions imposed by dwelling on a major label" and cites the current financial clime as "the perfect opportunity to start doing things our own way again, with the added benefit of being a far bigger fish in a proverbial pool, surrounded by people who have been handpicked to get the job best done. And more importantly... who still are hungry for the taste of music."

Having recently published the long-awaited Gospel Of Filth grimoire of all things ghastly and ghoulish, the band will finish the new album, undertake its heavy press schedule and then embark on a full world tour in its support.
