Circle II Circle - Recording New Album
Former Savatage vocalist Zak Stevens and his band Circle II Circle have just started recording their fifth album. Entitled Consequence Of Power, this will be the second concept album of the band. The release is expected for Autumn 2010.

The Last Felony - Ink Deal With Lifeforce Records
Lifeforce Records is proud to announce the signing of one of the most exciting young death metal acts, The Last Felony, from Montreal, Canada.
"Our search for a new label is finally over," guitarist Dominic Grimard comments. "We are extremely proud to be joining the Lifeforce family. This label has housed so many great bands, whether it be past or present, which in effect, makes this deal that much more exciting for us. Lately, we have been stalled in our search for a label with an open mind in terms of extreme music, and Lifeforce seems like the perfect fit for us for obvious reasons. We are grateful for this opportunity which Stefan Luedicke and the Lifeforce family have given us, and are anxious to see what the future holds for our band.
We are currently set to release our new full length album Too Many Humans, due in summer this year. This partnership opens vast opportunities in terms of touring outside Canadian soil, so you can expect to see TLF touring somewhere near you shortly."
Having released their debut, Aeon Of Suffering, with well respected label Galy Records, who already introduced bands like Despised Icon and Beneath The Massacre to the metal world, The Last Felony is now ready to take the world by storm with their new album Too Many Humans, to be released this summer on Lifeforce Records.
The Canadians are focusing on a mixture between technical brutal death metal with discreet traces of black metal. Lacrimas Profundere - New Album Details
The new Lacrimas Profundere album The Grandiose Nowhere will see the light of day on April 30th through Napalm Records. The album was produced by John Fryer (HIM, Nine Inch Nails) - who also handled the production on the band's last two albums. Album details below.

Anathema - New Album Details
Anathema have officially announced the release of their eagerly anticipated eighth studio album We're Here Because We're Here, to be released on May 31st via Kscope Records.
Danny Cavanagh comments: "We're Here Because We're Here is Anathema's most expansive album to date and by the far best thing we've ever done. Not only have we improved as writers, but because we took our time, we had the opportunity to select the very best material and concentrate on it. We gave the songs the chance to breathe and come alive by themselves and it's ended up being magical - every song is as good as the rest of them. This album features the best performances by the band ever; Vincent's greatest vocals and John's and my best writing."
Vincent goes further in explaining the origins of the album's enigmatic title: "The title We're Here Because We're Here is inspired by a song that was first heard across the Allied trenches of World War One. Sung to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne", the song served as a defiant rallying-call keeping up the morale of those who had to endure the incessant carnage and almost unimaginable horror. The spirit behind those words, and the deep questions they raised immediately struck all of us. Therefore we have appropriated these words to reflect the spirit and bond that all six members of the group have with each other. We have shared some incredible experiences, on all levels, and the fact that we have emerged stronger, more determined, and confident in our common vision is a testament to our resilience, both as individuals and collectively"
Danny continues: "The bond is deeper than the music and you might say the direction of music is a product of our connection to each other; a real family in every sense of the word."
With that in mind the band can announce that John Douglas' sister Lee has joined the group on a full-time basis. She had this to say of her involvement: "It's great to be more involved musically, and I feel that my vocals are adding a new presence and depth to the dynamic of the group. I'm in it for the long haul, so bring it on!"
The self-produced album was mixed by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and features the exquisite string arrangements of Dave Stewart (Stewart/Gaskin, Porcupine Tree) and mastering skills of legendary Jon Astley (The Who, Led Zeppelin). The song "Angels Walk Among Us" features subtle backing vocals by Ville Valo of HIM.

Then we were fortunate enough to play with them at With Full Force Festival a few years back and they killed it live! As fate would have it, I was asked to participate in a Nuclear Blast 20 Year Anniversary compilation album called Out of the Dark, which Peter Wichers wrote the music for. I wrote the lyrics and melody for a song on that compilation called 'My Name is Fate'! Peter actually was also the producer, so I was fortunate enough to get to work with him in the studio! What a brilliant guy and and a great musician and now that he is back in the fold Soilwork is back on top of their game. I think the musical styles and live performances of both bands will make every show on this tour a show not to be missed by any true fan of HEAVY music! Modern metallers Sonic Syndicate have revealed the first details for their upcoming effort We Rule The Night, out May 28th via Nuclear Blast.
"The time has once again arrived for all of us in Sonic Syndicate to unleash a new album on the world. Just a short time ago we burned down your city and now we're back with full force to announce that We Rule The Night. Over the last few months we've been working on the artwork for our new album - coming out on May 28th, 2010 - with our good friend Gustavo Sazes. We asked Gustavo to create a bright cover that was also very dark to fit with the title of out new album. After countless hours of frustration and adjustments an email arrives with what has now become the brightest yet darkest cover we could possibly hope for. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. We present to you the cover artwork of our new album, We Rule The Night."
The album was recorded at Bohus Sound Studios in Sweden, with US producer Toby Wright (Kiss, Korn, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, Stone Sour). Tracklisting and more details to be announced soon.

We're having more fun then ever, the music started flowing like water and We Rule the Night is the most exciting album we've recorded to date!"

Six Magics - New Guitarist Announced
Six Magics have announced Pablo Ignacio Sepúlveda as the new guitar player replacing Gabriel Hidalgo. Here's the band's comment about the new line up: "We are excited to announce that Pablo Ignacio Sepúlveda has officially joined Six Magics as new guitar player. Pablo has replaced Gabriel Hidalgo when he decided to quit the band to live and study in USA. Pablo was with us in our promotional tour in Germany last month and it wasn't hard to realize he is not just a great guitarist but a lovely person, too. Please give him a warm welcome!"
Coroner Records licensed the album Behind The Sorrow to the Japanese label Howling Bull. The album will be released in Japan on the 28th of April 2010 and it will contain a live version of the song "Behind The Sorrow" as bonus track.
Six Magics also announced they will be in Europe to play at the True As Steel Festival 2010 that will take place at Dynamo, Zürich (Switzerland) on October 15th-16th 2010.

Coroner Records licensed the album Behind The Sorrow to the Japanese label Howling Bull. The album will be released in Japan on the 28th of April 2010 and it will contain a live version of the song "Behind The Sorrow" as bonus track.

The Human Condition - Flotsam & Jetsam Vocalist Joins Project Of Sacred Reich Guitarist
Vocalist Eric AK of the legendary Flotsam & Jetsam has joined The Human Condition.
The Human Condition performed a surprise five song set at the Nino Notaro Memorial Concert on Feb, 20th at Club Stratus in Phoenix, Arizona. It had been a well kept secret that guitarist Wiley Arnett (Sacred Reich) and Eric (Flotsam & Jetsam) had joined forces.
Flotsam & Jetsam were scheduled to share a stage with Sacred Reich for the first time in nearly 18 years, about 1,500 of Arizona's core metal family members all came together to celebrate the life of Nino Notaro. THC felt it would be cool to debut the new line up at this special event.
When THC initially took the stage metal heads in attendance seemed a bit confused to see Wiley strap on his guitar and Eric begin checking the mic. THC drummer Muley counted off three stick clicks and they were off, by the second song it was clear there was a new band out of Arizona to consider.
With the addition of Eric AK on Vocals and Johnny Urwin on Bass, THC has returned to the scene with renewed vigor. Anyone that witnessed the debut performance would agree that THC is fresh, relevant and rooted in a bit of metal history.
The band is busy writing and has added a 6th song to their set list since the show.

The Human Condition performed a surprise five song set at the Nino Notaro Memorial Concert on Feb, 20th at Club Stratus in Phoenix, Arizona. It had been a well kept secret that guitarist Wiley Arnett (Sacred Reich) and Eric (Flotsam & Jetsam) had joined forces.
Flotsam & Jetsam were scheduled to share a stage with Sacred Reich for the first time in nearly 18 years, about 1,500 of Arizona's core metal family members all came together to celebrate the life of Nino Notaro. Royal Metal Fest 2010 - Line-Up Finalized
The 2010 line-up for the Danish metal festival Royal Metal Fest is ready. Royal Metal Fest is a 3-day metal festival, organized by Danish promoter Metal Royale (hence the name). This is the third annual edition of the festival which is to be held April 15th - 17th in the city of Aarhus. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at this location.

Dew-Scented - Record Signings

German Thrash Metallers Dew-Scented have signed a European deal with Metal Blade Records for the release of their upcoming, still untitled new studio album.
The band comments the signing as follows: "We are happy to finally be able to announce that we have just signed a new deal with Metal Blade for Europe! We have known the European staff at Metal Blade for many years already and considering the label's massive history in Metal as well as the fact that their current repertoire includes several cool bands that we have toured with throughout the years like Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse or God Dethroned, we look forward to this new co-operation and are excited about the release of our next album, which we will be recorded in the coming weeks."
Andreas Reissnauer of Metal Blade Europe adds: "Dew-Scented is a driving force in European Thrash Metal. A band that delivered excellent records through the years and that is always giving 110 % on stage. Being fans and friends of the band since day one we are excited to finally be able to work with Dew-Scented in the future. The best is yet to come!"
Dew-Scented are entering Soundlodge Studios in Northern Germany in February with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister, etc.), who has previously engineered the band's latest album Incinerate in 2007, to record their long-awaited new studio album. A release date is planned for May 2010.

A few weeks ago it was reported that Dew-Scented signed with Metal Blade Europe (see above), and now the band signed a North American record deal with Prosthetic Records. Here's the official press release:

The effort entitled, Invocation, which was recorded by Jörg Uken at Soundlodge Studios (God Dethroned, Sinister, Despondency), is due out on May 25th. Invocation also marks the first appearance of drummer Marc-Andree Dieken (ex-Obscenity), and guitar team Michael Borchers and Martin Walczak, alongside long term members, vocalist Leif Jensen and bassist Alexander Pahl.

Vocalist Eliezer explains the meaning behind Ciudad de Luz: "This world is like a game full of doors that confuse people, but at the same time they train us in the discernment of truth. Thus "the waves of steel in a thirsty field" take our souls to a higher place, even higher than it was before its decline. But your soul is not alone in this journey, his mother called Shejina departs with it. When the two meet, it's redeemed like if it was born again. By experiencing this reality, the melodies emerge and begin to sing and "children's songs begin to sound". These are nothing but the unspeakable words of higher souls who assist us, from times even before the foundation of the world. When we surrender to these melodies, our soul's light breaks the darkness of the world, the same way a child breaks out of the womb. This is where there is unity and purpose. Make this world a "City of Light", an eternal house, a house of refuge, comfort, and meeting that transcends all boundaries that make us different."
