Gorod - Sign To Listenable Records

Listenable Records press release

French technical death metal virtuosi Gorod have inked a deal with Listenable Records. Their new album "Process Of A New Decline" sets a landmark in the bands career and will turn many heads in the metal community, rest assured!

With this new record, Gorod have cleverly spiced their diamond-cutting technicality with supercharged pinball machine melodies and fluttering sting ray guitar solos against a backdrop of grooves and bonkers bass playing, not to mention tighter, radioactive songwriting sure to burrow its way into permanent memory. Considering how slippery and complicated Gorod sounds on paper, it's immediately refreshing to be reminded that death metal can be catchy, brainy, and fun all at the same time "Process Of A New Decline" is sure to be one of the best technical death metal albums you've heard in quite some time!

Believer - Two New Songs Online

Two new Believer songs from the new album "Gabriel" posted online. "Redshift" and "Medwton" are now streaming on the band's MySpace page.

"Medwton" was the first track to be heard from Gabriel after an early, unmastered version was "leaked" on Bam Margera's radio show. "Redshift" was the first Believer track ever to be written around the bass and drums rather than the guitar and drums. This provided more room to experiment with dynamics and some of the crazy electronic sounds that are found throughout.

Joey, Kurt and Jeff recently joined Dirty Dan in the 105.7 The X studios for an entertaining and informative interview. Listen to all four interview segments on the band's MySpace page -- located in the player directly below "Medwton".

"Gabriel" was released in the USA on 17 March, and on 9 April in Europe.

Goatwhore - New Album Details

Official press release

New Orleans, LA's sons of American no-frills black metal, Goatwhore, have just announced that the title of their fourth full-length album, and second for Metal Blade, will be "Carving Out The Eyes Of God". For the follow up to 2006's "A Haunting Curse", Goatwhore headed back to St. Petersburg, FL to record with producer Erik Rutan at Manna Studios with mastering being handled by Alan Douches of West West Side.

Vocalist Ben Falgoust comments on the direction of the new album; "I don't really know how to explain this. I don't want to come off with the typical speech about how this record is our best yet and all of that. I will say that I am quite pleased how it has turned out and all parts relating to it. I feel every member put a great deal of effort into their part of the project. I even feel Erik Rutan busted his ass even more this time to make us feel that we didn't take any steps backwards in the recording and production of this release? I don't even really care what the critics say. I think the end result is basically coming up with something you have put a lot of work into and the satisfaction achieved in completing it. I will say that the new material is ripping metal and we still have that 'Goatwhore' sound, whatever that may mean for each individual that enjoys or hates what we do. Just look at it as another step in the evolution of this band. Each person that hears it will have his or her own perception of it. Like it or not, we don't have a say in it. The only thing we can do is just keep writing the way we do and accept the criticism. Doesn't mean we are gonna listen to the criticism and change. Just give it an honest listen and if you dig it, awesome! If you don't, then pass it on to a friend or use it as a new drink coaster."

Guitarist Sammy Duet had this to add; "Dark, heavy, evil. Erik Rutan did one hell of a job on it. If you don't like it... kiss my ass."

Track listing to Carving Out the Eyes of God:

01. Apocalyptic Havoc
02. The All-Destroying
03. Carving Out The Eyes Of God
04. Shadow Of A Rising Knife
05. Provoking The Ritual Of Death
06. In Legions, I Am Wars Of Wrath
07. Reckoning Of The Soul Made Godless
08. This Passing Into The Power Of Demons
09. Razor Flesh Devoured
10. To Mourn And Forever Wander Through Forgotten Doorways

"Carving Out the Eyes of God" will be available everywhere June 23rd 2009.

One Man Army And The Undead Quartet - Guitarist Quits

Vocalist Johan Lindstrand of One Man Army And The Undead Quartet has issued the following update:

"On the first of April 2009 our longtime friend and bandmember Mikael Lagerblad decided to quit the band. His thoughts has been towards this decision for a while now even though we haven't seen it coming. But being in this band is of course all about free will. If you don't feel comfortable in being in a band that plays extreme music and loving every minute of it, then you shouldn't be in the band.

Mikael has written a lot of good songs for this band but one should know that his contribution only has covered around 35-40% of the total Army catalouge. That means that we without doubt will be able to continue writing new great Army stuff for the future, despite this setback. I mean, for example, 95% of the first album " 21st Century Killing Machine" was written without him so this situation isn't something new and scary that will bring us down. It's of course a sad thing but not the end of the world.

For the next couple of months We have brought a session guitarist into the band that will help us out during some of the already booked shows that we have. So if you are worried that we will start canceling shows you should stop worrying. One Man Army doesn't quit. Setbacks like this always makes this killing machine stronger and stronger. We will play as much as possible for the "Grim Tales" touring cycle so c'mon, keep those bookings coming.

Our session guitar player is a guy named Rune Foss who also plays with both drummer Marek Dobrowolski and guitarist Mattias Bolander in their other band Reclusion. He is a great guitar player and a great guy on the personal level so doing a couple of shows with him throughout Europe will be a blessing. Mattias will handle all the solos at the moment. He is originally a lead guitarist and this task will come very natural for him. We definitely have an interesting time in front of us.

But of course, in time we will need a new fulltime member so this is the chance for YOU to proove that you belong in this great band. We only pay attention to Swedish applications. This for obvious reasons. It's kinda hard to rehearse with people that lives a million miles away from you. Lead or rhythm. Contact us anyway if you belive you are great in what you do."

Mikael Lagerblad added in a final statement: "After three albums and almost five years in the band, I have decided to quit. It has been a great time and I'm proud of the music that we have created. Even though One Man Army has been a big part of my life, I feel I'm ready to move on. During the last couple of months my motivation and inspiration has not been at the high level it used to be. It might sound like a cliché, but there's no bad blood between us and I'm comfortable with mydecision.
