Syrach - Drummer Leaves The Band

Norwegian metallers Syrach have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"A couple of days ago, we got an e-mail from our drummer Adam telling us he is leaving us. We have been seeing this coming for some time, since he's only been in Bergen twice in one year for rehearsals. Fair enough, since he got a great job in Oslo he have our understanding and the best of luck in the future. Hopefully he will not quit drumming, as he is far too good to leave his sticks on the shelf, especially since he is only 25 years old...

So with this blog we will remember Adam as we remember him and at the same time ask all drummers out there to get in touch if you want to play some true norwegian doom!

We have had several great years together with Adam, and a lot of fun. He have tought us about time travels and solved many math mysteries for us.

Thank you and good luck!"

The Sword - Drummer Quits, All Remaining Live Dates Cancelled

Official press release

On the heels of the cancellation of their European tour, Austin, TX's The Sword are also regretfully canceling the remainder of their scheduled US dates due to the departure of their drummer, Trivett Wingo. The split is amicable and both Trivett and the rest of the band wish each other the best of the luck with their respective plans. The Sword are already working diligently to reschedule their European and US dates.

Trivett Wingo explains: "It is with deep sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Sword. After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime, I have arrived at a place where I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword. If I could go any further, I would as I love the music and JD, Bryan and Kyle are people that I deeply respect, but I have reached a point where I just can't do this anymore. I would like to thank the wonderful people who made this experience what it has been: the fans, the people that I have worked and all of the bands and musicians that have inspired me over the years. I thank you and apologize for any disappointment that this may cause anyone, not least of which The Sword."

Here is an official statement from The Sword: "We wish Trivett nothing but the best, and it is with heavy hearts that we bid him farewell. He is a phenomenal musician and has been an integral part of this band's success. He helped to lay the foundation that we will continue to build upon, and we wouldn't be where we are without him. We wish he could continue the adventure with us, but we understand that the life of a touring musician is not for everyone. It's been a hell of a ride, and we're sad to see this part of the journey end. The show must go on, though, and will be back on the road as soon as humanly possible."

God Dethroned - New Song Up For Streaming

Dutch death metallers, God Dethroned, have launched a landing page for their upcoming new album Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross. Head to this location now to stream the title track off the new album and to find out about the various pre-order deals.

Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler on the title track: "The 1905 Schlieffen Plan made by the Prussian Count von Schlieffen after England signed the previous Entente Cordiale in 1904 with France. The plan was based on a battle between Hannibal and the Roman army in 216 B.C. that was later modified and eventually failed when put into practice. It remains uncertain if the changes to the Schlieffen Plan or the plan itself was the reason for not being successful."

The bands 9th album was recorded at the Soundlodge Studios in Leer, Germany.

Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler: "Musically the new album turned out to be one of the most extreme records we ever did. Nevertheless with the very recognizable God Dethroned hooks present in all the songs. Producer Joerg Uken outdid himself this time, because our new album is in my opinion the best produced album we ever had. Extremely raw, heavy, but crystal clear and super dynamic at the same time."

Creation's End - Debut Album Details

In November, Creation's End will be releasing their debut effort, A New Beginning via Sensory Records.

Creation's End is the visionary collaboration between guitarist Rudy Albert (ex-Zandelle) and drummer Dario Rodriguez. The duo have been playing music together since 1999 in various capacities, and as they grew tighter in their playing, began to focus on writing original material. The nature of these songs evolved from simple metal tunes in the early years to more complex and mature compositions.

After a short period of time, Rudy and Dario decided that the time was right to record and release their ever-expanding music the right way. With a newly renovated studio and producer John Macaluso (James LaBrie, Fool's Game, ex-Ark, ex-TNT, ex-Yngwie Malsmteen) on board, Rudy and Dario set out to record eight reworked versions of songs that appeared on their early demos, which we now have in our hands as the debut album from Creation's End. They also recruited several other well established musicians to round out the line-up, including Mike DiMeo, (ex-Masterplan, ex-Riot), Marco Sfogli (James LaBrie), and Joe Black (Chris Caffery, ex-Zandelle).

This past summer the band decided to have world famous engineer Neil Kernon (Queensrÿche, Yes, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, etc) mix their debut masterpiece, which was dubbed A New Beginning. This flooring debut album is set to be unleashed on November 9, 2010 via New Jersey-based prog metal outfit Sensory Records, and culminates everything the creative duo envisioned since the very beginning; a melodic, progressive, groove-laden, dark and crushing display of incredible heavy metal.

You can listen to the opening track "Of Shadow And Flame" as well as a medley of the album here.

01. Of Shadow And Flame
02. World Holocaust

Dakrya - New Album, Two New Songs Online

Greek avantgarde gothic metallers Dakrya will be releasing their new full-length album, Crime Scene, before the end of the year through Sensory Records. Here's the official press release:

When seven Greek charlatans get together, the musical visions that spring from their minds can only be described as a true freakshow.

Back in late 2004 the idea of a band that could develop a theatrical attitude and combine different musical elements with the dynamics of metal and rock sound, brought Dakrya to life. Following the usual demos and local live shows, the band released its debut album Monumento in the spring of 2008. Receiving great reviews and good support from both the media and the fans in and around Greece, Dakrya started touring on a broader scale, supporting international bands such as Moonspell and more.

In 2009 the band began to work on new material; the main goal was to put even more emphasis on the "theatrical" style of Dakrya, and in January 2010 the band entered the studio with engineer George Bokos (Rotting Christ), to record their sophomore album Crime Scene. Come March 2010 the band found themselves sitting in a studio in Sweden mixing the album together with Pelle Saether (Diablo Swing Orchestra, Draconian, Madder Mortem), followed by a trip to another Swedish sound-guru, Göran Finnberg (Opeth, In Flames, Arch Enemy) for the mastering of the disc.

From beginning to end, Crime Scene is a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Ranging from the psychotic and cinematic melodrama heard in bands like Diablo Swing Orchestra and Unexpect to the orchestrated gothic metal comparable to Therion and Theatre of Tragedy, Dakrya paints their mark all over the canvas.

Two brand new tracks, called "The Charlatans" and "The Urban Tribe", are now streaming on Dakrya's MySpace page.

Crime Scene cover art] tracklist:

01. The Charlatans
02. Blind Man's Bluff
03. Scaremongering
04. The Urban Tribe
05. Camouflage
06. Phantasmagoria
07. Inertia
08. Dramatis Personae
09. A Dreadful Side Scene
