American progressive metal band Shadow Gallery announces that they will be embarking on a European Mini-Tour in October 2010 with support from modern rock band Maplerun. The tour is set to launch with their headlining performance on October 2nd at ProgPower Europe in Baarlo, Netherlands.

After the successful release of their sixth studio album Digital Ghosts in November 2009 via InsideOut Records, the band is set to bring their epic progressive metal music to Europe for their first tour, booked and managed by WarCry Entertainment Group.

Guitarist Gary Wehrkamp states: "Our fans in Europe have been eagerly waiting for the day that Shadow Gallery would take the stage and we are happy to finally be able to make this journey together."

"I'm going to start this update off with the good news. We're playing a week of shows with our friends in Soilwork in August. Can't wait to play with those dudes again! As reported in June, the package features a live DVD/CD featuring 17 tracks recorded at Chimaira's December 30th Christmas show (at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio). Bonus features on the DVD include a 45 minute Resurrection: "Making of" documentary and a 40 minute home-video footage documentary of never before seen moments.

Coming Alive was released on July 13 in Europe, and July 20 in the rest of the world.

Prosthetic Records press release

Technical death metal act, Beneath The Massacre, have announced Marée Noire, as the title of their forthcoming EP which will be released in North America on September 14th. The effort was co- produced by Chris Donaldson, known for his work with Cryptopsy, with guitarist Chris Bradley and the band. It was mixed by Donaldson and mastered by Alan Douches (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Converge).

Bradley commented on the release: "Marée Noire was written using a different approach than the preceding release. We wouldn't start the writing process from the same point. Some songs were more structured by melodies while others all started from drums pattern. I think it makes the songs stand out a little more."

Vocalist Elliot Desgagnes added: "The tones are a little rawer and it helped a lot that Donaldson and Bradley already worked together in the past. We were all on the same page and everything went well in studio. I really like the EP format. It's easier lyrically to make connections between the songs and follow a thought pattern. We named the EP Marée Noire, "Black Tide", in English, because I was writing lyrics on Absurdism, self fulfilled prophecy and corporations raping everything, when BP started to shit in the Gulf of Mexico."

French metallers Dagoba have revealed the artwork for their upcoming fourth full-length, entitled Poseidon. The artwork was done by Cecil KIM. Watch a bigger picture here.

Poseidon was recorded at Hyperion Studio in Marseille, France with "Brew" Varea and mixed by Dave Chang at Philia Studio, UK. The album will be released on August 30 through XIII Bis Records.

"We´ve done it! Our third album is recorded, including mixing and mastering. And we are really proud of the result - we think it´s amazing. Our feeling is, that everyone of us has developed as well as the band together. Nevertheless we are still Midnattsol.

We had an awesome time in Studio E and want to thank Markus Stock for his great work - also as a producer for us. But there are still thousands of things to do, until the CD will be released. It seems that Soulfly bassist Bobby Burns has quit the band. In a recent Tweet, Burns writes: "To all the fans... Soulfly and I have decided to part ways. Stay tuned for my next projects already in the works."

A statement from the Cavalera camp is expected any time soon.

Burns was part of the band for seven years and appeared on four studio albums. He also sings and plays guitar and bass in a hip-hop/punk/metal band called Primer 55.

UPDATE

The Cavalera camp has indeed confirmed the split with bassist Bobby Burns, as announced yesterday. "Soulfly have indeed parted ways with bassist Bobby Burns. The split was completely amicable and there was no animosity on either side," a statement on the band's website reads.

Johny Chow, who plays with Max and Marc Rizzo in Cavalera Conspiracy (and is also a member of Fireball Ministry), will be loaning his skills to upcoming Soulfly tours for the immediate future until the position is filled. Live dates available here.
