Malevolent Creation - Death Before Dishonor Tour Cancelled

According to a posting on the band's official MySpace, "Malevolent Creation are very disappointed to announce the unfortunate cancellation of the Death Before Dishonor Tour which was booked for November 2008 in Europe.

The situation was beyond the band's control as they never received the contracts or plane tickets they were promised by the X Factor Booking Agency (which is Metallysee doing operation under new name).

The band is moving forward and looking to reschedule the tour through an agency with a better reputation with Vital Remains for early next year following a devastatingly brutal new CD from this Malevolent Creation!

Malevolent Creation are focusing now on writing a very angry, fast and furious opus to conquer 2009 with."

Hatesphere - To Enter Studio Next Week

Guitarist Peter "Pepe" Lyse Hansen of Danish thrash/death metallers Hatesphere has issued the following update:

"We have just wrapped up the song writing for the new album this weekend, so we are more than prepared to enter the studio next week on October 13th. The album will be produced and mixed by Tue Madsen at the Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark. Keep your eyes and ears open for studio blogs and updates on both this page and our MySpace-page - and on this location.

Also, we have been confirmed for this years Aalborg Metal Festival to take place on November 7th in Aalborg, Denmark. Other bands playing are amongst others Opeth. Furthermore we have confirmed a show at the P3 in Purmerend, Holland, on December 5th. We visited Purmerend last time in February on our tour with Dismember, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you guys and girls there again. Support on this show will come from the Danish band, The Psyke Project, which will also support us on December 6th at the Bang your Head Festival in Esch, Luxembourg."

Civilization One - Lose Three Band Members

Civilization One original members, Chitral "Chity" Somapala (vocals) and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass) have issued the following statement:

"We are sad to announce that we parted ways with Christian Münzner (guitars), Björn Daigger (guitars) and Holger Rodammer (drums).

With the exception of the very first Civilization One concert at Progpower UK, this line-up has played all the shows following the release of our first album "Revolution Rising". We were looking forward to recording the second album "Calling The Gods" together. However, during the last months and for various reasons, it has proven more and more difficult working all together. In the end, we thought it was best to go on our seperate ways. There are definitely no hard feelings on our side and so we wish Chris, Björn and Holly all the best in their future projects.

As for Civilization One, obviously the schedule for the following months has to be adjusted. We're very sorry that we are forced to cancel the two remaining shows for "Revolution Rising" in France (Rockalies festival in St Martin de Fontenay) and in Germany (Power of metal festival in Paderborn). The recording of "Calling The gods" will also be delayed, until we figure who is going to handle the vacant positions in the band. But please be sure that "Calling The gods" will come out and will more than meet the expectations following the critical success of our debut album.

Civilization One released their first album "Revolution Rising", produced by Markus Teske, in 2007 on Metal Heaven Records."

Scar Symmetry - New Vocalists Announced

Scar Symmetry have announced some new decisions among the band:

"When things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter. We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on "Holographic Universe" would be hard if not impossible to sing live. So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?
The answer is YES! Instead of hiring a new singer, we decided - some of you might already have figured it out by now - to recruit TWO singers! The idea of having two vocalists in the band is something that's been in the back of our minds for a long time, and after auditioning and rehearsing with two of Sweden's best vocalists we're thrilled, excited, stoked-beyond-belief!

So let us introduce you to...

Robert Karlsson - lead growl vocals and backing clean vocals
Roberth was our first choice for the growling position. Jonas once called him Sweden's finest growler, which is no overstatement. Roberth has been involved in many bands throughout the years, among others Edge Of Sanity and Facebreaker.

Lars Palmqvist - lead clean vocals and backing growl vocals
Roberth introduced us to his long-time friend Lars, who blew us away with his powerful-yet-beautiful voice. You can imagine our excitement when we learned that he's a fantastic growler as well! Despite his amazing talents he's virtually unknown to the metal public, which just might change as of today!

We are very fortunate to have found these guys. They bring to the band not only their incredible skills but also a positive vibe we haven't had for some time.
We've posted a videoclip from when we auditioned Roberth and Lars, as a little teaser... Yes it might come across as we were drunk the entire time, which probably is very close to the truth. Enjoy!"

Cage - Demo Version Of New Song Online

San Diego metallers, Cage, have posted a demo version of a new song on their MySpace page entitled "Operation Overlord." The band has also issued the following update:

"Cage has raised the bar for American heavy metal with every single cd release in their history, but the benchmark had been raised since the release of "Darker Than Black" in 2003 and "Hell Destroyer" in 2007. How did Cage top "Astrology"? By writing and recording what many have defined as Cage's crowning glory 3rd cd "Darker Than Black". This again put Cage to the test with how do we top "Darker Than Black"? By writing one of the genre's heaviest cds ever to be recorded in the good old USA, "Hell Destroyer". With 2 back to back critical acclaimed cds released, Cage found themselves in the unenviable but potentially dangerous position of not being able to deliver the goods.

With the addition of our new legendary drummer Norm Leggio (Ex-Psychotic Waltz), Cage has this time raised the bar even higher than anticipated. The new songs combine the best of the "Unveiled"; "Astrology"; "Darker Than Black" and "Hell Destroyer" cds, along with a new fire lighting up our creative minds and lots of new musical surprises (can you say speed; blast beats and mayhem?).

Well, we have posted for you all a rough demo version of a song called "Operation Overlord" from the new batch of kick ass songs being finalized for our upcoming 5th cd, which we plan on releasing worldwide via a soon to be announced new international record label from a very few that we have approached and will select.
So listen to the song, tell us what you like; send us a comment via our My Space website and hold on tight, as the American Power Metal kings Cage are getting ready to unleash the beast very soon..."

According to blabbermouth.net, Swedish metal band Dreamland will enter Andy La Rocque's (King Diamond) Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden this fall to begin recording their new album for a March 2009 release via Dockyard 1.
