Season Of Mist - Sign Misery Index, Sólstafir, Terrorizer, Arckanum & Dodecahedron

Independent record label Season Of Mist decided to go on a signing frenzy this week, and announced the addition of no less than five new bands to their roster. The bands in question are Misery Index, Sólstafir, Terrorizer, Arckanum and Dodecahedron. You can read all five press releases after the jump.

Season of Mist is proud to welcome American grindcore quartet Misery Index.

States Misery Index bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton: "Needless to say, we are very excited to start working with Season of Mist and to join an exceptional roster that includes many of our favorite bands. We will commence later this year to writing the next album, and with luck will enter the studio in 2012. Thanks to everyone who helped us get to where we are today, and cheers to Season of Mist for supporting us in our present and future endeavors."

Sólstafir is the first Icelandic band to join the label's roster. Their new album has been set for an autumn 2011 release.

Frontman Aðalbjörn Tryggvason comments: "On behalf of Sólstafir, I can honestly say that we are delighted to have signed to Season of Mist, and we have full faith in that they will work with us in taking the band to a new level. Our new album will for sure make some jaw dropping and surprise many, and we feel that we have found the right home to spread the light of Sólstafir all over the planet for years to come!"

Legendary grindcore act Terrorizer has risen once again from the remains of modern civilization to release another full length album.

The band's 2011 line-up consists of Commando Pete Sandoval who remains dug into position on drums, blasting out armor-piercing beats and defending his territory as one of the most brutal drummers alive. Wolf, aka Anthony Rezhawk, the vocalist on the previous Terrorizer album release Darker Days Ahead, returns for his second menacing oration of dark politicized prophecies about the apocalyptic near future. Also this line-up features David Vincent (Morbid Angel) on bass, ready to continue the onslaught he began with Terrorizer's debut album masterpiece World Downfall. On guitar, it is the great honor of Katina Culture (Resistant Culture) to shred in place of the late Jesse Pintado, who's still felt to be in the band in heart and spirit. She's attempted to do justice to Jesse's frantic, yet precise tornado of riffing while adding her own style to the mix of sonic wreckage. The new album is in its final stage of production and will be upon mankind early 2012.

The band issued the following statement about the signing: "We are happy to team up with SoM for the worldwide release of the next Terrorizer album! We are currently finishing the recordings and expect to mix down the record after the summer! We are also determined to finally bring Terrorizer on tour all over the globe next year to support the album's release."

Swedish Black Metal act Arckanum just joined the roster! Season of Mist's Underground Activists division will unleash the one-man band's seventh album on next September 16th in Europe, September 27th in North America.

Dodecahedron is a Black Metal band from Tilburg, The Netherlands, formerly known as Order Of The Source Below.

Comments guitarist and composer M. Nienhuis: "Dodecahedron is very pleased to announce the signing with leading French record label Season of Mist. At this moment we are busy with the art and concept of our debut album. We are honored to find ourselves amongst pioneering acts such as Mayhem and Deathspell Omega. Dodecahedron looks forward to the collaboration with Season of Mist and will try to maintain their high musical standard by offering you the next step in black metal."

Who the hell names their band after a shape.

Anyway, awesome news. Mostly proud of MI and Arckanum, but Terrorizer still know how to...terrorize...and stuff.

This is pretty cool news. Five bands signed with close proximity to each other. Solstafir and Arckanum are pretty cool bands; the other ones I am not that familiar with.
