Megadeth - Shawn Drover And Chris Broderick Quit The Band
This was sudden. As they prepare to enter the studio in January, Megadeth lose two of its members. Long-time drummer Shawn Drover, who has been in the band for the last ten years, and guitarist Christopher "Chris" Broderick, in the band since 2008, have both announced their departures from the group today in quick succession. Broderick cited "artistic and musical differences" and Drover will be pursuing his own musical interests. It's just founding members Mustaine and Ellefson in the band now.
Broderick wrote on his official website: "Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure from Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction. I want all of you to know how much I appreciate the amount that you the fans have accepted and respected me as a member of Megadeth for the last seven years, but it is time for me to move on. I wish Dave and everyone in Megadeth all the best. I am working on a few things of my own and hope that when they come out, you will all dig it. Until then."
As for drummer Shawn Drover, he released this statement: "After 10 years, I have decided to quit Megadeth to pursue my own musical interests. I want to thank Dave Mustaine and the entire Megadeth family, as well as thanking all the amazing Megadeth fans around the world! I truly appreciate all of you. Stay tuned for info on my next musical journey."
Stay tuned for more updates and possible announcements regarding new members joining Megadeth. So far, there's been no official statement from Megadeth.

I mean, both ex-members have suddenly artistic differences after years of playing the same shit?? Com'on who are you fooling? Either that or Dave is planning to make a dubstep album.

I mean, it's not as if being a musician offers a lot of job security. And staying in Megadeth for a while could of course allow them to get their name out there, get a few endorsement deals, etc. Sure, their boss is a jerk, but lots of people who work in the same place for 10 years hate their boss  This is all speculation though, maybe they genuinely liked the new records and are just now having artistic differences because Dave Mustaine is trying to make a gothic rock album or something.

Not really a surprise for me. Chris can do a lot better with his skills, it was no challenge for him to play Megadeth. As for Shawn, that might be a return of Eidolon. Hope Ellefson keeps Mustaine at bay until he looks for some guys who really fit the bands ambitions. Even if nowadays they shoot really low...

It is true that Megadeth is often a revolving door, very likely often due to Dave but still wouldn't rule out what they're saying is true.
