Metal Storm - Design Update
Hi all!
It's been a while since Metal Storm had a proper update. A lot of layouts were rather outdated and it looked terrible on mobile devices.
I started working on a redesign over a year ago, but due to chronic lack of time and Metal Storm's insane amount of pages, the progress was very slow. Now, while not every page has been redesigned, I feel it's ready for release - I certainly wouldn't want to drag it for another year. The remaining pages can then slowly follow as I complete them.
The biggest improvements are centered around responsive layout, which should now scale nicely all the way down to smartphones. A lot of layouts, some sections and functionalities have been updated, most notably the front page and private messaging. My biggest efforts were directed at the most vital parts of the site, like band pages, the forum and publications.
Due to the increased image sizes, many old album and band images wil appear stretched - please replace them with new ones, they will be saved in higher resolution. I will also work on automatically updating gallery thumbnails, which used to be very small and now will look stretched as well.
Please report any broken layouts and bugs here. Though make sure you clear your browser cache before you complain

On my phone, which has empy-ish cash, it is kinda broken. The right half if screen is totally empty here, and in the main page, there was duplicate of every link. Like " mz mz" for my profile. Tnx Ivan. I guess you spent a lot of time in this.

Looks good Ivan. Since almost all of my internet use has been via phone or tablet for years I haven't been on MS much at all, but with these changes I'll likely be back as a regular user. Nicely done.

Thanks, it's a welcome refresh! BTW, will we get an HTTPS access someday? I really don't like accessing a non-secured website where I'm logged in from a shared network connection like at work or at the airport (cookies go through in clear text and sessions can be stolen). Certificates can be generated for free now (using e.g., let's encrypt) and configuring Apache is generally a breeze.

Great redesign, thanks Ivan, it's good to know that mobile navigation is now more optimized ! Two integration feedbacks, using Chrome: - On my Updates page, on the "Albums" and "New releases" sections, there is an integration issue, text goes over the album cover. - The website logo does not appear correctly except on the Home Page, half hidden by the main menu bar
