Communic - Stream First Single From Upcoming Album

Fans of progressive metal and Communic rejoice because the band is returning with a new album this year, Where Echoes Gather, and today you can hear a new track! For those who are anticipating the new Communic, their first recording since The Bottom Deep (2011), enjoy "Where Echoes Gather, Pt. 1 - Beneath The Giant" now!

Guitarist/vocalist Oddleif Stensland explained: "This is the first single we release from the album, Where Echoes Gather. This is the title track and on the album and it is split up into two parts, but I like to think of the song as a whole, but for now we only will show you part 1. Part 2 will be added soon. When you listen to the album there will be no gap or pause between as it will flow as one long song."

Part 1: Beneath The Giant - "The topic of the song was inspired by a visit to an Eastern Europe City some years ago. In this city, a giant of a city, the stressful hectic life, people off to work, blindly following as sheep, while in the underground sewers and pipes there was a communion of orphan children, and youngsters, living in the absence of 'street' awareness, sniffing glue to escape from reality. At night they come out, treading the shadows of the streets, looking for the next fix. We fail to lift the head away from our own 'problems' neglecting what's going on around us. With a government and media system that also fails to fix the problem, more interested in social likes or in telling the truth! So this is where I got the inspiration to this song. Some of these children where in the same age as my own children, who I as a parent want to grow up in a safe home environment with friends and family who cares, made me even closer to the brutality, and made me see the harsh reality of life with different eyes."

You can get your hands on the album on October 27th via AFM Records.

I should have known better, but this was quite meh. Sounds like it will be similar to the previous release if I remember correctly.

I think this sounds more like their early work, albeit quite recycled. Kind of ironic that "recycled" appears in the lyrics.
