Kataklysm - Launch 'Underneath The Scars' Single

"Underneath The Scars", a brand new single from Kataklysm, has been revealed. The track appears on the forthcoming album Unconquered, due out September 25th via Nuclear Blast.

Maurizio Iacono comments: "Underneath the Scars" is a bulldozer of a track that will surely ignite the world's metalheads into straight headbanging madness. We look forward to bringing this beast live when the time comes. Since all the Kataklysm members live in different states and countries as well as all the travel restrictions in place, there was no way we could get together and film another concept video as we had planned. So we dug up some unreleased footage from last year's European headlining tour and decided to pull together a cool montage of what we miss the most; playing live with our crazy fans by our side! Meanwhile, crank up Underneath the Scars and pull them horns up in the air!"

Again they are following the safe sound
a tone the genre of which has been at its peak years ago, and which has since been used to death in deathcore
the melody sections would be interesting if paired with the typical Kataklysm sound, but here they just serve to break up boredom

Haha, that's like saying "compose your own Metal album and upload it here, instead of writing a review of an album".

They must be running purely on marketing/name recognition alone at this point. I can't imagine otherwise how a band so deeply mired in the swamps of mediocrity could still be going this strong.

So boring. Will remove them from my bandlist, each piece of news is nothing but waste of time. Too bad, they could do so much better!

Well, have to strongly disagree with you guys. I didn't really like meditations but the two first singles of Unconquered sound very promising to me!

Have you seen them live ? I think that also explains why they are still that strong. But also the new material is obviously to the liking of many.

I haven't, and that's a good point. I imagine they put on a good show but for me whatever they release these days doesn't translate well in the recording studio.
