Emma Ruth Rundle - To Release Two Albums Next Year
After just putting out a collaboration record with Thou a couple of weeks ago, Emma Ruth Rundle now share exciting news in connection with the new music production. She revealed that in 2021 we can expect two new albums. The first one comes out in Spring via Sargent House. Additional details to be unveiled.
Comments Emma: "I have 2 albums in the works. One is done: improvised avant-guard music meant to accompany a book of visual art I've been hiding. Out Spring 2021. The other is a "normal" singer songwriter album which I record in a few weeks. Release TBA via Sargent House."

What's mprovised avant-guard music?   I will definitely listen to the singer-songwriter album. I listened to two of her albums and I enjoyed them quite a bit.

I am pretty sure she means "avant-garde". The typo is not from our news, it is a quoted statement of hers and this is how she spelled it ("avant-guard"). Or maybe our very own BE is now writing her press releases. I have no idea what she means by "improvised". In any case, her voice is fantastic so I will listen to both.

It's probably just me but I can't help but think of anyone who describes their own music as avant-garde as being pretentious. If it's really as unique and genre-defying as you think it is, listeners will decide that for themselves. It's like claiming your next album is a masterpiece.

It could just be an issue of phrasing as well, like if she were to say she tried new things or experimented with her sound more, it wouldn't bother me at all.
