Gamma Ray - To Release '30 Years Live Anniversary' Album


Hamburg based power metal legends Gamma Ray proudly announce the release of the 30 Years Live Anniversary album. Due out September 10th, this livestream event (filmed at ISS Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany) will be available as 2CD & DVD Digipack, 3LP & Bluray, and digital. To taste a piece of it, Gamma Ray premiere the ''Land Of The Free'' song/live clip via YouTube below.

Statment from Gamma Ray: ''The band would like to invite everyone to the party that was their exclusive and only show in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the band was not able to play shows so they decided to do a livestream event and set up a big stage in the ISS Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. This event took place on August 27 and was streamed to fans all over the globe.

Heading for Tomorrow is there, nice. Here's hoping that they play a version from the first album, not one of those they made later, which were worse.

Long time since I heard Land of the Free, reminds me of how great Gamma Ray were back in the days. BUT... a live album without an audience is just... strange.

Heading for Tomorrow -- in the original version -- is my all-time favourite GR song. I have admittedly never come across any other version, and I do not feel any urge to.

What's the point in taking a step back on vocals only to constantly sing back vocals lol. I'm not liking that Hansen hired Frank Beck for leads from his solo stuff. Beck even sounded horrible taking over the band Almanac. At least choose someone that sounds similar to your own style, and not someone that sounds similar to a much more washed up Kiske But at least the song sounded musically good :
