German veterans Sodom have confirmed the passing of their former member Uwe Christoffers. Uwe played guitars for Sodom back in 1986. He was also part of another German band, Darkness, in 1985.

Sodom comments: ''A sad day in Metal history: Uwe Christoffers, early member of Darkness (as Damager) and part of the second Obsessed lineup (as Ahäthoor), passed away. Sodomaniacs will remember him for composing the infamous fan favourite "After The Deluge". Our thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace!"
