Sodom - New Album In The Works
Sodom founder and bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper confirmed in a new interview with Metalheads Forever that the band has commenced the writing and pre-production sessions of the follow-up to 2020's Genesis XIX, which he says might not be released before 2024. Tom also revealed that they might also again work with Harris Johns, who produced several of Sodom's classic albums, including Persecution Mania (1987) and Agent Orange (1989).
About this new album, Angelripper said: "Yes. We have a couple of songs written, we had some pre-productions, you know, and I can tell you the new songs will be the heaviest ever. [...] I'm also thinking about getting our old producer Harris Johns back on the panel because he has a lot of ideas, he's still a cool guy, and he kept the spirit of the 80's. We want to have a better sound, we want to get more old school with a better sound, you know. [...] I don't know if [the release of a new album] will happen next year or '24. We need to talk [to] the record company and to get an option for the next release, you know, but I want to do this without any pressure."
