Gojira - Release Official Music Video Of Paris Summer Olympics Track

After months of elusive footage due to broadcast rights issues, Gojira has officially uploaded their groundbreaking Summer Olympic performance of the French Revolution-era song "Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)".

Gojira made history this past July as the first metal act to ever perform at the Olympic Games during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France on July 26, delivering a visually striking set, performed from the windows of Paris' iconic Concierge amidst a grand spectacle of pyrotechnics.

The track, co-composed with Victor Le Masne, the musical director for the games, featured Fench-Swiss mezzo-soprano opera singer Marina Viotti, who also performed during the event as well as nearly 300 classical musicians. The elaborate performance, steeped in France's revolutionary history - complete with macabre imagery, including a beheaded Marie Antoinette - sparked controversy globally. The performance made international headlines and was widely regarded as one of the most talked about moments from the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Gojira's "Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)" was unveiled as a nominee for the Best Metal Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, their third nomination in that category. The other nominees are Metallica, Judas Priest, Poppy and Spiritbox. The 67th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on February 2nd, 2025.
