I’m excited but I’ve also read that this is going to be a simpler album than the previous one. I don’t hope that means that they take the foot off the gas. I loved their last album.

“ Deris was asked by The Metal Command how the material for HELLOWEEN's next album compares to that on "Helloween". He said: "I'd say it's much more easy listening, because there's less constructed stuff on it. It's more flowing with the wind, so to say. It's very, very positive, so I would rather say it's more happy, happy HELLOWEEN than the other album. I think it's a bit more… yeah, the flow is, for my taste, not as edgy as the last album, which was cool — I like edgy stuff — but we should have more or less some counterpart to edgy, more exhausting things. The last album, for me, was great to listen through — it was edgy, it was heavy, it was complicated here and there — but after listening to it, then I needed a pause. It was exhausting. After [listening to 'Helloween'], I needed some break, put it that way. I loved it, and I still love it, but it's demanding. I think the next album will be much more easy listening, I think much more enjoyable to sing along [to]; there are lots of parts in there. So I would rather describe it as a more happy, happy HELLOWEEN album. That would be the best description."
What does “easy listening” mean…😬😬😬😬. I will never say that their last album was exhausting to listen to. It was awesome start to finish

Can't wait! From my understanding, it seems that Deris meant that this new one will be more straight-forward and less "complicated," as he put it. Don't necessarily think that it means it will be slower. We'll see.

If it's simpler than the last record then it needs to be more catchy.

Skyfall was the best song on the last album by a margin, and also its most complex, so I don't know what the omens are like for a follow-up record with an intentional focus on being less complicated.

I hope Kiske isn't still singing on this. Then the album will suck.

Really?! I for one liked his performance on their last album.

Me too. I thought he sounded as good on the album as he had sounded on their 80's records.

I agree about it being awesome from start to finish.
And I don't think he meant "easy listening" as in this kind of music that was popular decades ago.

Loved the self-titled album too and I'm definitely excited for this one.

Their last one kinda sucked. It was too much having THREE singers on it. Deris on leads FTW.

Writing this reply knowing it'll probably hurt other's eyes, but Kiske's voice is just not good anymore, and has not for many years. Actually, to be honest, never really liked his whiny style. He only sounds good with duet singers these days. Though I respect their reunion collaboration as a cool gimmick, but Kiske's vocals nearly being the main singer in their previous album really strayed me away from it, other than being very bland, with maybe one or two songs being good. Was not a good album. Completely ok with Hansen's vocals, though he too should go back to focusing more on Gamma Ray. Can't get over the fact that Andi Debris has been the perfect vocalist for Helloween since his debut. I literally only liked their previous album's song version that were recorded under Deris' vocals only. So hopefully, this next album would be more guest singing for Kiske/Hansen rather than duet focused... Always ready for new music though! 🤘

I sometimes wish Andi could go back to Pink Cream 69 but whenever I listen to his first few albums with Helloween (especially Master Of The Rings and The Time Of The Oath) I sorta think of him as the right guy to take Michael's place.
