Possessed - Original Guitarist Shot Dead At 60
Sources are reporting that that original Possessed guitarist Brian Montana was shot dead by San Francisco policemen in the early morning hours of last Tuesday (April 29th), following an incident where Montana had fired a gun through his neighbor's apartment after an altercation. Montana, who was 60 years old the time of the shooting, was the guitarist for Possessed for roughly a year (1983-1984) and was replaced by future Primus guitarist Larry LaLonde just before the recording of their debut album Seven Churches.
San Mateo Daily Journal reports: "The incident occurred around 6 p.m. April 28, when officers responded to a call on Arroyo Drive. According to a press release from the South San Francisco Police Department, the shooting suspect, Brian Montana "fired at officers from different locations within the driveway while seeking cover and concealment using both vehicles in the driveway and landscaping" Two officers fired their weapons, leaving Montana dead at the scene."
Montana's death was also confirmed by former D.R.I. bassist Harald Oimoen, writing on Facebook: "Just heard some weird awful news !! Original Possessed guitarist Brian Montana was shot and killed by SF Police when he fired a gun through his neighbors apartment !! He was the guitarist that played on their first demo and on the Metal Massacre track "Swing Of The Axe"!! I did one photo shoot with him before he was replaced by Larry "Ler" Lalonde…"

The USA has the fifth highest incarceration rate in the world, so the harsh penalties have no deterrent function. Almost all other Western countries have successfully relied on social rehabilitation for decades, something that has never been attempted on a large scale in the USA. In combination with the lax gun laws and social aspects, this total failure of the criminal rehabilitation policy leads to the highest recidivism rates in the world. There's no Western democracy with a less efficient justice system than the USA. Your comment is so wrong it hurts.

I belive in second chance, not 4th or 7th. I think if people have been in jail 3 times, 4th time should be life whit out parole. Intellectual crime as hack politicans secret bank account and transfer all billions to animal care center is not a crime
