Onslaught guitarist Wayne Dorman just announced on his Instagram page that he has left the band after eight years as a member of the iconic British thrash metal band. His departure comes just one week prior the release of Onslaught's long-awaited new album Origins Of Aggression.

Wayne Dorman wrote: "I am announcing my immediate departure from Onslaught. Whereas I sincerely wish my former bandmates the very best of luck and success for the future, there are a number of reasons behind my decision, some professional, some personal. Please be assured that the band have secured a suitable replacement for me and that the current tour dates will continue as scheduled.

"As for me, I am not going to be actively seeking a new project for the foreseeable, who knows what tomorrow will bring. But for now, I will be hanging up the guitar to take time to recover from the affects that certain aspects that 8 intense years of being in the band have taken on my mental health and confidence and to reassess whether I even still want to make music anymore. If, further down the road, I find myself missing music, I'll find a new project, who knows.

"I would like to thank all of your for your support over the years and I bid you farewell, for now."
