Alright, i saw no thread for this band, so i decided to make one, even though i don't have much knowledge of them. So by starting off this discussion, i'd like some tips on what CDs i should concentrate more upon. I do believe i have everything they have released (excluding the best of...s), so i won't have any obstacles.

I have known about the band for about half a year, but there was one thing that always put me off. It was the vocals. Maybe i stumbled upon the wrong tracks, but today, when i decided to give them a try again, i was extremely happy when the vocals didn't annoy me. I knew before that i liked the music, but the voice...i couldn't get around it. Anyways, i started today with their latest CD (Suffer Our Pleasures) and then i passed on to For the Glory of Nothing. I haven't listened to either of them fully, but the songs that i've heard are really good. They keys stand out because they have a rather unique sound. I can't really similarize them to something others have done. I mean, Kamelot and Children of Bodom have a few key parts that are like totally the same. Tarot's keys just sound...different and cool. The guitars are also noteworthy and the vocalist seems rather talented actually.

The playlist just skipped to the song I'm Here from For the Glory of Nothing and the first thing that came to my mind after hearing the first few seconds was Korn While i find the information slightly disturbing and the distortion of the vocals of the song even more, it has a good pace and is enjoyable for the most part.

Anyways, discuss away. From the thread in the old version of metalstorm i read something along the lines that "Tarot is a metal classic that everyone should know". I dunno how much truth is in that, but i sure don't think that listening to this music will take a piece away from someone. It will more probably leave a memorable experience, which i'm thankful for.

It's about time to have a topic about Tarot,my alltime fav band. First time I saw them on stage was july 1988.

I like them all.They are all little bit different than the last one but if I have pick one up ,it's tie between Suffer our pleasures,Follow me into madness and Stigmata they are all great

Yes that first concert I saw was something to remember,they had so huge wall of Marshall amps that even Metallica boys were amazed how cool is that?

Wow...Metallica was amazed! That is something that i have to really remember for a long time.
Suffer Our Pleasures seemed to sound more different than their previous releases, but it was a shallow listen, so i may be wrong. However, if i am correct, what do you think of the "change"?

So far I'm the only person who voted "I don't like them"

I liked them at first and still do think the band is talented. The reason I stopped liking them is that the songs were unbearably repetitive, generic and not memorable. Marco has a great raw voice but when he is repeating the same line over and over again the scratchy quality grated on me (example: Undead son, OMG - how many times does he repeat that line?!?!?) This is a good example of a band filled with highly skilled musicians and poor songwriters.

I have only heard one song by them (Pyre Of Gods) and I like it...the video for it is quite boring though. Can't find anything by them on the Internet or in shops, so I'm basing my vote on just that one track

Ive heard a few songs from my friend, its alright, i cant say i dislike them, but i wouldnt buy anything, Marco is an awesome vocalist though, as we can see from Nightwish.

Boys were outstanding at Nummirock they showed to every young band that how to play and who is in command

Yes you should go because I'm going too the band sounds very tough

Have one album from them (Suffer Our Pleasure) and it's average stuff. Bought it from sale with cheap prize

Man maybe you share whit me how was Tarot on Tsika, what songs thay play, from witch albums and are thay play sonsg from new single? If yes how it sounds?

Oh the boys were on fire they played something from every album and alltime favs such as Wings of darkness,Dancing in the wire,Rose on the grave and the suprise the real stage burner Angels of pain

And yes they played their new single YOU

I had hear firtt 2 albums an di like firts better how other I think there thay use 2 guitars , drums, bass(voice= and after firts album bass, goiutar, drums and keeys, whne thay start us ekeeys thay sounds lil sleepy, ir this is my subyective opionuom.

Having said that, if the rest of their stuff is as good as "Pyre of Gods" or "Warhead" or "Live Hard die Hard" then this is one awesome band!

You can dounloud in home page ''Pyre Of Gods'' video and 3 live videos and 6 or 8 live songs, I thinks its enought to strat knowing band

Although I haven't heard much of Tarot I can safely say that Marco's vocals actually suit this band and he does a much better job here than he does in Nightwish.

Agree his vocals in Tarot sounds clean, and good but in Nightwish he sings always like drunk nd seems he has soar throut when he sings in Nightwish, his studio and live vocals are simmilar non clear, but in Tarot its how it shood be :bnger2:

The new album Crows Fly Black is maybe even better than Suffer Our Pleasures, though I can't say that for sure yet since I've only listened to it for one week. Tarot has been even more straightforward than on SOP, which I really like. My favoite song on the new album is Traitor so far.

New album is totally great the 5th member Tommi Salmela fits in just fine giving even more options for this band

I really really enjoy this new CD. It's among the top3 of my favourite new releases this year. This CD is an addition to the very small "want to purchase" list that i'm keeping. The songs "Crows Fly Black" is my favourite at the moment, solely for the part starting at about 4.38. The keys near 5.00 are also awesome, but generally the uptime started from the first named time. I haven't discovered any real downsides for the album even though i have listened to it for about 2 weeks now.

tarot...! it's a great band, I had knew tarot since 2004(throughout metalstorm.ee) sometimes I think Marco Hietala does a better work on tarot, than nightwish. repeating sometimes, and is my personal opinion.

If you talk about Videos its ok, but poor, no efects, but metal video need efects?
Song IMO its best of them but firts 2 albums are werry good too thay didnt use sinths then bass(vocals), guitars, guitars, drums

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned how awesome Marco's lyrics are. The lyrics in "Suffer Our Pleasures" are some of the best I have heard and absolutely perfect for a heavy metal band.

I just listen specely firts Tarot album and iMO its more better how nowdays but I dont wanna say tarot are bad in nowdays but I hawnt hearnew album, so I dunno, but I think it shood be good
