Darkthrone - Panzerfaust Album To Be Re-Released

Peaceville Records will begin releasing new editions of classic Darkthrone albums later this month from the recently acquired Moonfog Productions catalogue titles.

The first re-issue, Panzerfaust, - Darkthrone's fifth album overall - will be released as a double-disc set and individually numbered vinyl (2000) on October 25th. The 2-CD edition includes a bonus disc featuring commentary from Darkthrone's infamous drummer/lyricist, Fenriz, for a first hand perspective behind the creation of the 1995 Frost-fuelled black metal masterpiece.

In related news, Peaceville Records will re-issue the rare second Isengard release, Høstmørke (1995), on October 25th. The album, which was performed entirely by Fenriz, also features a special commentary disc conducted by Fenriz, reflecting on the recording process, as well as an insight into the time of the recording.

Man, if they sorted out the sidechaining on Panzerfaust this would be the cause of some serious fucking excitement because it totally ruined an album that had some kick ass songs. It won't happen though.

"Panzrfaust" has always been one of my favourite Darkthrone albums. Will be somewhat interested to hear these commentary discs too.

I hope they won't change nothing about the vocals coz they are sooo raw (and awesome) !
Fenriz commentaries are always interesting, so it might be worth to pick it up.
Hail to the Isengard re-issue, that's good stuff too !

What Darkthrone is doing is re-release an album, what Gorgoroth did was re-recording an album. 100% different.
The catalog after Darkthrone classic triology can be quite hard to get for some nowdays, so it makes sense to re-release them.
Gorgoroth on the other hand... no. Not at all.

Edit: Huh, this was one really old comment, damn.

That's what you do when you're unable to release decent new material.

They shake your hand and they smile and they buy you a drink
They say we'll be your friends we'll stick with you till the end
But everybody's only looking out for themselves
And you say who can you trust I'll tell you nobody
