It just might be, my friend. You are absolutely right about the perfect scores. It's 5/5 on every damn site which has reviewed it already. I'm just getting stoked at the moment dreaming about what the band has in store for us. Can't wait.....

the first one seemed to have many filler songs and didnt have the beauty of cosmogenesis or of those 2 new songs imo...

Retribution is more brutal (I think). In Cosmogenesis they put more progressive and jazz elements, especially on drums. I've listened to their 2 new songs from Omnivium, they're great. The use of clean vocals really reminds me of Opeth. Really can't wait to have this album.

Supposedly it leaked. Let's check this baby out.

I prefer Cosmogenesis, this release isn't as strong.

I don't think Omnivium is weaker than Cosmogenesis. They sound darker, more mature, and of course, more progressive . Love how they add more clean vocals and acoustic part in this album, sounds beautiful !

I'm impressed with Omnivium all around. The technical sections are superior to ones on Cosmogenesis and it's very very proggy....the clean vocals and the experimentation kind of makes it akin to Gorod's Process of a New Decline for me. However, I do believe it is far inferior to Cosmogenesis.
1. The vocals are just....derivative for me. A total reversal of the last album. The first four songs of Cosmogenesis had insane vocals and the ones on this record are....lacking.
2. Some duds, particularly Septuagint and Velocity. These songs are located at vital points of the record that need to be stunning, but fail to offer the same punch as...the whole Cosmogenesis did.

Repeated listens are needed to truly digest this beauty...might I say the best tech death of the year so far! Clearly the most technical ENTERTAINING band anyone could look for (note the word "entertaining," Necrophagist). A solid 8/10.

Everyone that wants to has already heard all the songs. This will probably be joining among the top of the death metal releases of all time whether it's you like it or not. They destroyed it on Cosmogenisis, it's the right timing to make us all bow to Obscura.

I don't know if better... like someone said i like only their first, more brutal album. The new one and "Cosmogenesis" are both weak for me.

Well, I've listened to this several times, at least fifteen, possibly more. And I'm still floored by it. The evolution from Cosmogenesis to this is really quite astounding. This is a much more mature album, and it's really refreshing to see a technical death metal band capable of actually utilizing proper song structures and writing catchy melodies. Honestly, I would put this album probably in the top twenty albums I've ever heard. It's just that good to me. If the MS system went to an 11, this would get one from me.
