Dream Theater - Announce North American Tour With Trivium

As hinted last month, progressive metal giants Dream Theater are touring North America later this year in support of the upcoming A Dramatic Turn of Events together with Roadrunner Records labelmates Trivium.

You can find the first batch of dates below (with more to be announced shortly).

Said Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci: "We are all very pumped about the release of A Dramatic Turn of Events this September, as well as the world tour we'll embark upon in support of the album. Our first leg will bring us throughout North America where we'll showcase songs from the new album along with tons of fan favorites and a brand new tour production unlike any other that we've done before. We're equally excited to have our friends in Trivium join us. It's sure to be an incredible tour. We're looking forward to seeing all of our friends on the road this fall!"

I will go if they come to Calgary, and all the members of the bands come on stage at the end and play Freebird together. With double the length guitar solos and a Jordan Rudess ragtime ending. Maaaaaan that would be sweeet.

I like Dream Theater, I really do, but I don't feel like going. Now if they had brought along Symphony X, no wait, opened for Symphony X, then I would be there in a heartbeat.

Have any of you SEEN Trivium Live? In my opinion, they kicked the hell outta Megadeth live, just because of the entire band's exuberance, and experimentation onstage...

Oh great. Another good tour in which the band completely passes over the South. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina...

Hopefully the second leg brings them closer to the Southern portions of the country. Damn, not even Ohio or Virginia are on this list. I swear, being a metalhead in the States is the pits sometimes.
