Cradle Of Filth - To Enter Studio In November

Cradle Of Filth, who are about to head off to the wilds of Russia for an extensive tour crusade throughout October (see dates below), confirm November 24th as the date they will be entering the studio to start recording their new album, with a release date tentatively etched for the beginning of June 2015, and raw working title of Hammer Of The Witches.

The tracklist for this decadent display of devilish misdemeanour is currently standing at the fifteen song mark, under the premise that several tracks will be special edition bonus material. Well, it should be fun album. CoF has reached to the stage where you can't raise your expectations.

Last three albums have been hit and miss. They had a fair share of bad and good moments, nothing to fuss about. I expect this to go along this line, though I am curious how the band will sounr without Paul Allender. I'm aware that we won't see anything done like it was before Midian, but then again CoF can still put out some good tracks on every album.

Agree, give us more like Godspeed! Easily one of my fave albums by them.

I hope this slight break has given them some fresh inspiration, they were cranking crap out every few months, whether album, dvds, merch, whatever 2010-2013. The lack of Paul Allender is a little concerning and strange they haven't announced anyone new yet... Guess they wrote the music as a 4 piece?

I love Paul to death, but I don't see it as a bad thing. The last album was almost entirely written by him, and was pretty mediocre imo. I like the new stuff he puts out with his new band better than the last cradle album. Hopefully we'll get an album that sounds like Darkly or Godspeed, or maybe a return to Midian style (Doubtful).

The generation gap here is funny.. CoF´s last good album was Cruelty in 1998, everything from there was a constant journey downhill by loosing all their good musicians and going from dark and morbid to circus clown mayhem... Dani glitters like a unicorn now.. nuff said.

Not sure what you mean here I like both old and new CoF albums, tho Manticore is easily forgetable. I'm not expecting anything filthy from them any more yet another symphonic album like Damnation and A Day or Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder would surely please me to death

I agree with both of you ahah
The best CoF was clearly until CatB. After that Dani got his ego boosted to the size of the moon (declared once he wanted to be more famous than the Spice Girls...) and the albums declined in terms of quality (as for quantity, that's another hilarious issue ahah). Still, i think Damnation and A Day and Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder are very decent albums.

Paul's new band (White Empress) sounds good. He might have wrote the last COF album but Dani seems like a Control freak and someone who always has to have the last word. I love COF and don't get me wrong but all i can do is cross my fingers and hope for something memorable and great and not just 'Solid'. Hopefully this new line up can bring in some new light and creativity that can put COF back on the map and please their fans

I agree though I did love Midian and then was thoroughly bored with everything after.

Damnation and A Day was boring .... wow

But is it even a new line-up? Paul left but they never announced anyone new.

Regardless I'm hoping for the same, CoF has felt very spread thin lately. If this album continues the trend of Darkly and Manitcore I wouldn't mind them just going on a hiatus till they have something fresh.

I dont know if its a permanent line up but a new one for sure. I agree with you. If it's anything like the last 2, fuck it. Go on a Hiatus
