Soundgarden - To Record New Album Next Year
Soundgarden have been working on a new album. During a recent appearance on "Whiplash", the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie, Soundgarden's frontman Chris Cornell confirmed that the band hopes to enter the studio early next year to record their long-awaited new album, which will be their first since 2012's King Animal, with the goal of releasing it later in the year.
When asked if the band plans to tour and release new music anytime soon, Cornell responded: "Well, it'll be in 2017 ? both those things, hopefully, will happen ? barring any, sort of, unforeseen thing, which I don't... I don't see any reason why those two things won't happen. The next thing that I am committing myself to concentrating on a hundred percent is the next Soundgarden album."
Furthermore, Soundgarden will headline the Carolina Rebellion in Concord, NC on May 5th, 2017, the Monster Energy Fort Rock in Fort Myers, FL on April 30th, 2017 and the Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville in Jacksonville, FL on April 29th, 2017.
